It is the end of biology. I am leaning on the back of my chair, letting it tip back a little then fall forwards again, looking at the clock above my teacher's head and counting down the seconds until lunch. Why am I doing this?

5 seconds until the bell goes off. 5, I wanted to say hi to Annabeth as I felt rude for running passed her yesterday. 4, I don't want my new friend Nico to feel alone on his first day. 3, If Octavian is at lunch and even looks at Nico (my FRIEND) the wrong way. He will get a black eye. 2, I wanted to make sure my FRIEND Nico hands and back are okay. 1, I just want to see Nico. I heard the bell ring so I grabbed my bag and started jogging out. I heard my teacher say something like "the bell doesn't dismiss you....." and then his voice faded out as I was too far away.

I went to the canteen and grabbed myself a bowl, put some pasta in it and some salad on the side. I found Percy sitting outside with his girlfriend and some other friends. I looked around for Nico first, I couldn't see him so I headed to the bench. "Hey" I said holding my tray. "Hey Will, this is Jason his girlfriend Piper and of course you've met Annabeth" he said this and smiled at her. "Nice to meet you" I told Jason and Piper "sorry about yesterday Annabeth. I was in a rush to find someone" I began to say, "to find Nico" Percy said without even thinking about it. I blushed a little. Annabeth nudged her boyfriend. The she spoke "don't worry about it, Will. It was nice meeting you anyway. If anyone can help that boy it's you" she said looking directly in my eyes. "It was nice meeting you too" I said not quite sure what to say.
Percy patted the seat next to him "come, sit, eat" he ordered politely, "I would but I don't stay where there is a lot of people at lunch it gets me a little on edge and anything could happen" I explained to Percy only looking at him and trying to tell him with my eyes that I could literally lose control if anything goes wrong at lunch and so it's best for me to find a quite spot on my own to eat.

"Okay cool. I'll see you in music then" he smiled and nodded showing me he understood, "Yeah thanks. See you" I said walking off to my spot. I looked around to see if I could see Nico again. I saw Percy's friends asking him questions probable about what just happened but I wasn't too worried about that, then I saw Octavian and a couple of over scum bags walk outside and I turned and headed into the woods.

5-minute walk and I was at my lunch spot. It was kind of lonely but its better then losing control. It had been a year since I had been back here, it was a beautiful place, a big Willow tree. Long thin branches hung all around the big trunk. It was placed in a little clearing in the woods were the grass was bright green and sprouting daisies around it.

I signed and walked through the long curtain branches and sat leaning agents the trunk. I picked up my fork and started digging into my pasta.

Suddenly, I heard a crunch and looked up. No one was there. All I saw was green, wood and the outline of the school in the distance. I went back to eating my pasta and there was another crunch, I looked up again and no one is there and then another crunch and I figured out where it was coming from. The other side of the tree. It was a pretty big trunk so I got up with my almost finished lunch tray and walked around the over side of the tree to confront what was there and way was in near my tree.

I turn the bend on my tree and stopped. I looked down at a black haired boy eating an apple with his headphones on. I couldn't help but smile. "Nico" I said but he obviously didn't hear me. I sat down next to him as he was in his own little word. Then I tapped him on the shoulder, he jumped a little more then I hoped he would but I didn't say anything. He took his head phones off and I swear I saw the left corner of him mouth bend in to a little smile.
