I sit up quickly after feeling like I was falling whilst asleep.

Lucas is standing at the foot of the bed. He looks up from his phone. "Are you okay?" he stares at me.

I shake my head and fall back onto the pillow and sigh. I don't even remember falling back asleep. I missed his interview and performance. "I'm so sorry." I cover my face with my hands. "I must have passed out when you left."

"I figured." He looks down at his phone as it vibrates in his hand. He's acting distant now. Is he mad at me? He told me to go back to sleep. Didn't he? I think he did. "I tried calling you awhile ago and you never picked up." He sits at the foot of the bed.

"I didn't hear it." He doesn't say anything more. "So, how'd it all go?" I start to smell pancakes and syrup.

"I got room service for us." I notice the platter beside him at the edge of the bed now. He's dodging my question.

"Thanks, you didn't order much for yourself." I notice once he picks up a small bowl of home fries. He says something that I don't really hear and pops a couple more into his mouth.

"I had some food before the interview." He chews more.

"How'd it go?" He shrugs. "Come on." I lean into him playfully for a second before continuing to eat my pancakes.

"They asked questions, I answered them, went out and performed four songs." He doesn't look at me. "Just like any other interview."

"You seem bothered by something." I know him too well to know when something is up and when he's trying to cover something up. "Just tell me, Lucas."

"I'm just tired." He finally makes eye contact with me. I know he isn't telling me everything but, right now, I'll leave him be so he can rest.

We both finish out breakfast in silence. "We have to catch a plane." He takes out plates and stacks them back on the tray. "We have an hour, so you can get a shower and stuff."

"Okay. Where are we going?"

"Back home." He looks at me as he stands and walks over to his suitcase.

I take a quick shower. After putting my bra and panties on, I just look into the mirror. Do I look as fat as they say? I never really looked at myself as fat before. Maybe a few times in high school. Eh. Maybe I do. My thighs do touch and my collar bones don't show that much. Are they supposed to? Are my bones supposed to show in order for people to accept me? They want bones? I'll give them bones.

My hand reaches down and grips my hip. Hip bones. I can feel them, but I can't see them. Yeah, I'll start a little diet and lose a few pounds just so people will shut up. I want to be comfortable with my body and I can't be if people are going to talk about it so badly.

I grab the side of my stomach. I hate diets. I've never really been on one before. I love food too much to deny it. I'm going to have to deny some of it if I want to lose a few pounds, though. I can do that. I just have to be motivated and they are motivating me enough for me to hear them even when they aren't talking.

I get dressed and apply makeup before fixing my hair and walking out of the bathroom to see Lucas sitting at the edge of the bed, ready to go while he talks on the phone. I climb on the bed and go up behind him, sitting on my knees. I wrap my arms around him as he talks to who I assume is his manager. Eventually, the phone call ends and he sighs. "We gotta go now," He speaks. "Security will be up in a minute." I brush my lips across his cheek. I'm terrified to go back outside and face the hordes of people waiting for Lucas to make an appearance. I squeeze him tighter as I press my face against the side of his and place a soft kiss just below his ear. "Don't be afraid to go outside, Val. You'll be safe." He grabs ahold of my hands. I'm not afraid of them attacking me like the way he is obviously thinking. There are a few knocks at the door and Lucas unhooks my arms around him so he can stand. "You're ready then?" he asks.
