"What? Go home? What about the weather?" Colin asked through bites of his food..

"I think I should go home. It would be worth it, the cabin is heated, I have enough food to spare, and you won't have to battle the winter if you stay with me for a while." I said.

"I guess that would be alright. Where did you say you lived again?" Sam asked, pushing his brown hair out of his face.

"I didn't. I live a couple miles away from Acton Lake," I explained, "The Felines don't really bother me over there, but I wouldn't do anything to disrupt them."

Felines are another type of shifter. Shifters come in many different types, even rodents. Your type of shifter depends in your parents and what area you are native to. The Canines in Africa are dingos, and the Felines around my home are Mountain Lions. There are only about twenty million shifters in the world.

"But that's a two day's walk," Colin whined.

"Snow's already starting to fall, I would rather be in a warm house after two days in the cold," I told him.

"We can leave tomorrow morning if you would like, Calla." Sam said.

"That would be great," I said.

-------------------------------------------

When I woke up, The sun had not risen yet, and light could barely make it's way through the trees. A thin blanket of snow covered the ground in all of its wintery glory. A backpack lay against the entrance to the den.

"Wake up ladies!!!!" I yelled loud and proud into the den.

Both of the boys snapped awake. "God, I wouldn't be surprised if you drove every bit of prey in a ten mile radius." Sam said, sleep still in his voice while rubbing his eyes.

"Well I don't care. You boys better be ready to get your cardio in, because we're going to take a little walk." I jumped.

"I know a better workout that requires less walking an burns calories quicker," Colin gave his signature smirk and winked at me.

"Um, no thanks," I rejected, "Hurry up guys, lets get going!"

"Calla, let us get our energy up and running first." Sam moaned.

"No. Laziness doesn't reward."

"Tell you what, you go hunt, and we'll be ready when you get back." He reasoned.

Colin butted in, "But-"

"Alright!" I agreed, cutting him off.

I exited the den, trying to pick up the freshest scent. I scented rabbit, and followed the aroma. There was a hare caught by it's neck in a snare. I collected the rabbit and reset the trap.

When I returned to the den, Sam was pulling a boot on his foot and Colin was leaning against a tree waiting for Sam. "Hey," Colin welcomed.

"Ready," He beamed, standing up.

"You boys better be," I growled.

"We are sweetheart, don't worry." He said, throwing his arm around me. It felt like his arm was made to fit perfectly around my shoulders. Almost like Dani said Kyle's arms felt.

"Let's just get going," I said, looking up at him.

"Alright, we can make it to Kyra's house by nightfall, and stay there for the night." Sam said, making a plan.

"Who's Kyra?" I asked. Was she from their old pack?

"A girl we used to run with back in the day." Sam replied. He had no interest in talking about the subject.

"What are we doing here standing around? let's get going then," Colin said, squeezing my shoulder.

Sam led us, Colin and I with our arms wrapped around each other. We conversed while walking for several miles. We felt close, even though we haven't been together for long. It was like an internal bond where I just felt right. I barely knew them, but I felt like they could be my pack. I didn't want to be in another pack. Especially since my view of packs have been distorted since I left.

"Hey, you alright? You look a bit out of it." A pair of bright green eyes said to me.

"Uh, yeah I'm fine." I smiled.

He pushed my hair about of my face and sighed, "I hope so."

What was that supposed to mean? I was going to say something, but I decided to keep my mind.

The snow had stopped, but the temperature never changed. The ground shone as the white crystals reflected light from the heightened sun. The tall trees swayed in the wind when a breeze would pass. Our footsteps left tracks in the ground, leaving a trail behind us.

Hours later, as we grew tired, we stumbled upon Kyra's house. After an exchange of hugs between the boys and Kyra, they explained that they needed to take me home, which is another 40 miles away. She allowed us to stay the night in her guest bedrooms.

When we walked in, I noticed that the house had a very homey feel to it, despite how large and modern it looked on the outside. She gave Sam a bedroom down hallway and Colin was chosen to sleep on the couch. Colin was obviously very reluctant but he complied after Kyra gave him the death stare. Sam and I snickered as he glared at us.

Kyra was very kind and welcoming, with a temper if you hit the right buttons. She had a scar that started at her cheek and trailed all the way down to her collarbone. She treated the boys like they were her brothers, joking with them about their past experiences.

So I'm going to be pretty busy with some school stuff, but I'll try to write as much as I can. I'm trying to post every Tuesday, but if I don't post on a Tuesday, It will probably be out on Wednesday or Thursday. Sorry for any inconveniences.

Anyways, some questions:

Who is Kyra and who is she in relation to the boys?

What will they do when they get back home?

I've ran out of questions?
