"Mia Rose Malfoy I assume?" Dumbledore asked the ginger haired girl standing in his office.

Although she had the pale skin of a Malfoy she had fiery ginger hair that no other Malfoy's possessed. She also acted differently to them and didn't share their opinions.

"Yes I am professor Dumbledore" Mia said politely to her new headmaster.

"I understand your transferring from beabons academy for young ladies." Dumbledore confirmed.

"Yes sir I am. My parents felt they weren't teaching me anything apart from how to starve yourself so they wished me to come here like they had previously," Mia told him.

"Yes well we better take you to the great hall and get you sorted into a house." Dumbledore lead her to the great hall where she crept into the back of the long line of first years.

When all the fist years had been sorted Mia was next and boy was she nervous.

"Mia Rose Malfoy." Mcgonogal called with a shocked expression on her face.

"Miss Malfoy has transferred from Beabons academy and will be joining us. She will be in 5th year," Dumbledore shouted through the great hall.

Mia sat down on the uncomfortable wooden chair and heard the hall whisper about her.

She saw her brother smirk at her and she grinned back at him. She loved her brother, although he was an ass at times, but she didn't want to in Slytherin.

Mcgonogal placed the hat on her head expecting it to immediately shout Slytherin.

The hat was quiet for a moment before it spoke. "Gryffindor!" It boomed and Mia smiled practically skipping over to the table.

When she sat down everyone moved away from her and she frowned slightly. She ate her meal in silence listening to the nasty whispers about her coming from her new house.

Mia kept the tears from falling, her father had told her to never be weak in front of anyone. She would be brave- after all she was a Gryffindor. Well that's what the hat said.

She followed behind everyone as they made their way to the Gryffindor common room. "I bet she's not really a Malfoy," one girl whispered.

"Say that again. I dare you. I'll show you how much I'm Malfoy," Mia growled smiling when the girl hurried away from her.

"No ones ever stood up to lavender like that," a boy said from beside her. "Neville Longbottom" he introduced himself.

"Mia Rose Malfoy" Mia smiled at him shaking his hand gently. "Are you really like your family?" Neville asked.

"Do you think I would be in Gryffindor if I was?" Mia laughed. "I guess not," Neville laughed back.

"At least I've got someone to talk to that's in my house then" Mia smiled. "It's because your a Malfoy, don't worry they'll get over it" Neville shrugged.

One of the prefects said the password and the portrait swung open revealing the Gryffindor common room. "It's nice, smells like home" Mia smiled breathing in deeply.

Mia stayed chatting with Neville about the school until everyone else had gone. Eventually Neville went up to bed as well.

Mia decided she would just sleep downstairs, she expected she wouldn't be welcomed in the 5th year girls dorm.

She grabbed a backpack she had put an extendable charm on, then accioed a blanket and a pillow.

She made herself comfortable on the sofa and eventually fell asleep listening to the lulling sound of the flames.
