jeonghan sighed softly, tiding up his tiny desk in the far corner of the teacher's room. it was another successful day of teaching and knowledge, and just like many others jeonghan had a million workbooks to check and another million assignments to plan. but he loved it none the less.
"i don't suppose you're free after this are you?"
he lifted his head to come face to face with his fellow colleague and senior, choi sengcheol.
"i'm not, hyung, sorry."
jeonghan could see the disappointment on seungcheol's face, his once confident stance slumping some-what. "no- i- it's fine, i understand. maybe some other time then?"
"yes, definitely."
"it's a date." seungcheol's face seemed to light up, grinning widely. his already handsome features becoming even more handsome if that was even possible. "alright, so tomorrow? i'll make sure to book us a nice place for dinner."
"i guess.." but before jeonghan could reply seungcheol had already went out the door.
jeonghan sighed, sure seungcheol was nice but really this was too much. a not so small shadow which was standing shyly by the door had caught his eye, making him smile, "mingyu-sshi? is that you?"
"uh. yeah."
mingyu was actually standing there the whole time, spying on the two teachers enviously. it was him that was supposed to have a chat with jeonghan. 'mr.choi better stay in his lane.' mingyu thought grudgingly, taking a seat opposite the desk.
"i just wanted to talk about your incident yesterday." jeonghan started, making mingyu gulp down the lump in his throat. the older made didn't seem angry about it, he was more curious.
"did you really eat those decorations?"
mingyu blinked, starting to laugh out of the sheer dumbness of it all. "uh, no."
"then why did you suddenly throw up all those petals?"
"i-it-" mingyu stuttered, turning his head to the side avoiding jeonghan's surprisingly intense gaze. "it was a prank, me and hansol were on the way to jihoon's class to prank him. yeah." he grinned, proud that he made up such a convincing excuse.
jeonghan didn't seem to buy it. "really."
"uh huh."
"then why did you pass out at the nurses office?"
"i uh, had to hold my breath while having those petals in my mouth! i didn't have enough oxygen and passed out."
jeonghan blinked, looking into mingyu's eyes for a second longer, watching him fidget around in his seat. "well, okay. If you insist." he let it go, offering the younger a small smile, "but if you have any problems you can always visit me, mingyu."
he chuckled softly at the reaction, finding how mingyu's cheeks had turned a light shade of red somewhat adorable.
"okay mr.yoon-"
"just jeonghan hyung is fine, calling me 'mr.yoon' makes me sound way to old." jeonghan laughed awkwardly before standing, hitching his tote bag on one arm and carrying a bunch of files in his other. "i'll be heading home now, it was nice having that talk."
mingyu stood too, towering over jeonghan.
"hyung, you want me to carry that for you?"
