e i g h t + apology

hansol was right, only a monster wouldn't like fried rice. jeonghan hyung certainly wasn't a monster. "i can't take this, it's yours." jeonghan pushed the lunchbox away, only to get it pushed back by the very defiant mingyu.

"i've got my own, besides i made extra, it'll be a waste to throw it away so i'm gonna give it to you."

mingyu smile grew, watching the teacher's eyes widen in surprise at the lunch and proceed to eat it in flourish.

they ate in comfortable silence for a while, ignoring the other teachers and students stares. despite just meeting a few days ago jeonghan would've never guessed that he'd enjoy the others company as much, but he did and it really was nice feeling. 

he looked up at mingyu and smiled a little, deciding to break the silence.

"i'm like, seven years older than you, why don't you hang out with kids your age?"

"they don't get me like you do." mingyu answered simply, placing the empty lunchbox on the table.

"what about hansol?"

"he's an ass."

jeonghan frowned, rolling his eyes at the boy's response. his stubbornness could seriously get on his nerves.

"besides, i'll be eighteen and graduating next year."

"even senior high students are still babies." jeonghan replied with a soft wistful smile, leaning his cheek against the palm of his hand.

"hyung." mingyu cringed at the teacher's reply and furrowed his brows together, "iyou haven't forgotten i'm not chan."

"i know, i know. you're mingyu, i'll never forget that."

"damn right." mingyu huffed, folding his arms tightly over his chest as he slumped back in the chair that was across jeonghan's table. "by the way, i don't think chan appreciates it when you publicly call him 'your baby' in the hallway." he pouted.

"why?" jeonghan looked genuinely surprised, "aw, it's not like anyone else wants to be my baby."

mingyu bit his lip, "maybe I do."

jeonghan raised his eyebrows, giving him a look.

"don't be inappropriate, kim mingyu."
