Okay I will but only if you tell me why you like Scott and I hope we can stay this honest with each other okay?” She just nodded in response but that was good enough for me. “Well there is so much that I like about Stiles and I don’t think I’ll have enough time before class starts to go through them all but we can continue this later so where should I start? Let’s see when I first developed a crush on him in the fourth grade it was because of his sarcasm and how caring he can be at the same time. You know when you’re young and the only people with good comebacks and witty retorts are the adults? Yea well that wasn’t the case with Stiles, it was like he was born for the sole purpose of snarking the older kids. I was being bullied verbally on the playground and Stiles came onto the scene like a wrathful deity spewing out profanities. He didn’t throw a single punch but he had four guys, that were three years older than us, running to the teacher crying for their mom’s. Stiles didn’t even bat an eye at the angry looks on the teachers faces when they heard the things Stiles had said he just turned around leaned down at me and said ‘don’t ever let someone treat you like you’re less amazing than you are and if they ever come back just come find me.’I just stood there for the rest of recess staring at him thinking that he was a guardian angel and that nothing bad could happen if he was around. I know it was childish but no matter how much time goes by I still feel safe when I’m around him.” When I finished my story I looked over at Allison and she had a weird look in her eyes that I hadn’t seen before.
“In a platonic way I think I just fell in love with Stiles a little. I now officially want you two to be together forever as well, you will get married and have children and everything. Your love story is going to be so epic, forget the Titanic it is now When Stiles Met Illaria.” She said with stars in her eyes and all I could do was laugh at her reaction.
“That’s just how I felt when I first saw him Allison he doesn’t feel the same way. Anyone can have an epic love story in their head that’s why their are so many people arrested for stalking on a yearly basis.”I pointed out while clutching at my stomach in an attempt to stop the pain from laughing to hard. “It’s about time to get to class now, we wouldn’t want you trying to act like cupid and shooting me and Stiles with arrows.” I said gathering up my stuff for class and waiting for Allison to do the same.
“I understand that that was only your side of the story but come on everyone knows that boys are slow, all we have to do is mature him a little faster. He will be slightly ahead of the other boys that should be a win win.” She said giving me a thumbs up as she disappeared into her first period class. I let out a guffaw and an eye roll before heading to my first class as well, she is a little naive but it’s not horrible yet. The day after that passed by quickly I have no clue what we covered in any of my classes but third and fourth was mostly because Allison and I were talking through the whole period. It turns out we had a lot in common and we got along pretty well but as it started getting closer and closer to lunchtime I got more nervous and I became less talkative. Allison didn’t seem to mind though, she was getting to much enjoyment out of it after all. The sadist. When the bell rang for lunch Allison had to practically drag me to the cafeteria because I was such a mess.
“Let’s grab a tray first then sit down.” Allison said pulling me towards the line, I didn’t try to put up that much of a struggle.
“But if we get that now we won’t have an excuse to leave the table later! Allison you can’t take away my escape route!” I told her while sending nervous glances to where Scott and Stiles were standing.
“Oh come on it won’t be that bad I promise. If it gets too much for you just twirl your hair around your finger as a signal and i’ll figure something out.”I hunched my shoulders in defeat, there was no backing out of this unless I wanted to flat out run away and that would gain more attention than turning into a sputtering mess. The line went by relatively fast.
“Allison, oh god i don’t think I can do this.” I murmured to Allison as we were walking to the table Scott and Stiles were sitting at. “You realize I haven’t talked more than five words to him the entire time i’ve known him?” I felt like I was starting to sweat.
“Relax I’ll be right there and Scott and I are already kind of close so you can just blow it off as sitting with your new friend who wanted to sit with the boy she likes. Now shush and pull yourself together we’re almost there.” Allison whispered back to me and I took a deep breath trying to calm down like she told me too. When we got to the table I realized how evil Allison really is as she plopped down next to Scott and shot me a look to get me to sit next to Stiles. I don’t think I was very subtle seeing as my face was burning as I sat down and I shot Allison a death glare which she only chuckled at.
“Hey guys, you’ve probably already met my friend Illaria but I thought I should introduce her anyway.” She said giving a megawatt smile that I couldn’t help smiling back at even though I knew the intentions behind it were evil.
“Hey.” I said nodding to both Scott and Stiles, trying not to linger my gaze on the boy sitting next to me.
“Yea your Lydia’s sister right?” Stiles asked me and I just refrained from rolling my eyes, I saw that one coming from a mile away.
“That would be me.” I answered shooting Allison a pointed look and I noticed that she even seemed a little mad at what Stiles said but she hid it behind a teasing smile.
“Aww does Stiles have a crush? You know I would have never pictured Lydia to be the kind of girl you liked.” She said in a teasing manner at first but she turned serious with her statement I raised an eyebrow at her and held back a smile, she was pretty good at fishing for information without actually asking.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Stiles asked seeming insulted by the insinuation.
“I don’t know I just thought I saw you going for a smart, funny, and romantic type of girl and I’m sorry but Lydia seems the furthest thing from romantic.” Allison said before taking a bite of food as if what she said meant nothing. “But then again I don’t really know you so I shouldn’t jump to conclusions about your depth of character.” She muttered the last part and I couldn’t hold in my laughter. Scott and Stiles gave me funny looks while Allison just sent me a small smile. After I calmed down enough to talk i turned to the boys.
“Sorry but I just couldn’t hold it in when Allison insinuated that your shallow. It was just too funny. I mean it would make sense though, you are a teenage boy driven by your hormones like every other guy in this school.” As soon as I said that there was a loud wolf whistle and when I turned around it turned out to be Matt again who I flipped off again. “Case in point.” I said as I turned back around with the lacrosse players shouting behind me. As I looked back at the table Allison busted out laughing and pointing at me.
“You flipping him off seems to be so against your character.” Allison said almost crying she was laughing so hard.
“Yea well Matt is persistent and annoying, I have to draw the line of mothering somewhere.” I told her referring to our conversation earlier where I mentioned that I tended to be a mother hen.
“Oh don’t get me wrong I love it. Ooh I can’t wait to see your mothering side.” She said still laughing so I just stuck my tongue out at her and chuckled.
“Wait can we get back to what you said earlier, how can you guys say stuff like that about Lydia when you’re both so close to her. I mean come on you’re her sister you shouldn’t bad mouth her.” Stiles spoke up turning to me and I just scoffed.
“What are you talking about I badmouthed you not her.” I told him furrowing my eyebrows.
“Allison said that she saw me going for a smart funny romantic and you agreed with her saying that that wasn’t your sister, that’s rude.” He said seeming to get angry which was starting to piss me off, my relationship with my sister was my business not his.
“Allison said those things then pointed that Lydia is not a romantic not that she wasn’t smart or funny, you jumped to that conclusion and I agree that Lydia is not a romantic. I will say that to her face and she would agree with me, we talk about these kind of things so screw you she’s my sister I think I know her better than you.”I gave him a death glare and turned back to my food shoving some chicken in my mouth angrily. I felt a foot touch my leg and when I looked up I was met with a sympathetic look from Allison to which I just shrugged. This was one of the reasons I never really talked to Stiles, his obsession with my sister was a little too much for me.
“But she loves the notebook she’s got to be a little romantic.” Stiles said trying to defend himself and I just rolled my eyes.
“Just because she likes that movie doesn’t mean she’s a romantic and seriously she mainly watches that movie to torture Jackson. Besides that movie is more practical than romantic, if it was romantic they would have never split up in the first place and she would have never gotten with that stupid soldier.” I said stating my dislike for the movie. I loved the main male character but the woman seriously got on my nerves, she didn’t deserve Noah’s love or whatever his name was. Before anyone could say anything Allison gave a laugh and beat the table like she was a judge.
“The hopeless romantic has spoken, The Notebook will be considered a practical movie from now on.” She said giving a giggle and I just chuckled at her . Scott gave her this lovesick look and I felt myself soften, they really were perfect for each other.
“But it’s considered a love story.” Stiles said clutching at straws.
“Yea it’s a love story but it’s not romantic it’s tragic and stupid if you ask me. I mean come on he never stopped loving her, from the moment they met he was hopeless for her and yet it meant nothing to her, not really. She moved on and was going to get married and she was happy because she had love and money. The way I saw it she was just in lust with the main guy because i’m sorry but you can’t love more than one person at the same time. At least not that kind of love. He deserved more than her but he was too blinded by his love to find happiness. If I was her I would never have been able to move on from him.” I ranted, really people should not start this debate with me.
“Oh my god.” Allison spoke up giving me this stricken look like she had just been hit as she looked between Stiles and me.
“No we’re not going there.” I told her shaking my head. Allison nodded at me and shook herself seemingly trying to get her bearings.
