In the mist of the snow, a dark brown and tan tabby she-cat was huddled in a snowy rut. She couldn't reside here. Some forest cats could sniff her scent make their way to her. She didn't want yo be ripped to shreds. Wincing from the cold, she bounded through the snow, pelting through trees as branches whipped her pelt. Suddenly, movement caught her green eye. A shape was moving about;a cat!
She backed away slightly, but grunted in pain with the claw-marks that Scar had left in her fur.
The cat in the distance looked in her direction. Making their way to her in a walk, they padded up to her. The dark brown tabby got in a battle stance. "Hey? Don't be afraid." The voice mewed.
"Give me one good reason," The tabby began, but until she got a good look at the cat, her hairless and calico pelt neatly groomed with ears unlike any other cat and an unusual tail.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"What's it to you forester?" The tabby asked.
"I was just going on a solo hunt." She showed the shrew in her jaws.
The tabby looked down at her paws. "What now?" She muttered.
"I don't," She began but voices called her name.
"Goldenheart! Goldenheart!" Calle a voice.
"StarClan, that's my mother." She mewed.
A silver tabby, a black she-cat, a tan and white tom, a black and white she-cat, a gray tabby, and a pale ginger tabby got closer.
The dark brown she-cat stood frozen, her fur spiking along her back. "Stay back! I'm warning you!" She growled, her claws slid out in a heartbeat. Goldenheart looked at the she-cat. "Mom, mama, she can't stay out here in this snow.." She mewed softly.
"We don't know even know her name." The black and white she-cat commented.
"Why don't we ask her for it Frostwing?" Asked the gray tabby.
"As if you'd care about getting anything out of me.." She rumbled.
Goldenheart looked down at her paws for a moment, her tail twitching.
"I see something in you.." The black she-cat meowed as she drew near her. "I-I said stay back!" The tabby shrieked, fear glittered in her green eyes. When the strange black cat was closer, she leaped up to pounce on her, until the she-cat named Goldenheart firmly pinned her down.
Why am I not fighting back? She asked herself.
"Why are you here! Who are you!" Goldenheart demanded to know pinning the rouge firmly down.
"I've left Twolegplace. I am only but a wanderer now." She confessed to the cats.
One by one, the cats exchanged a glance with each other.
"C-come with us." She suggested. "StarClan not this again.." Meadowstripe rumbled.
"Why?"
"You can't stay in this cold.." Goldenheart replied.
"You truly have the heart of gold." The tabby purred.
Goldenheart gave a purr.
"Your lifestyle seems intriguing from what I've heard. I want in."
Goldenheart smiled softly at the she-cat.
"Greer... My name's Greer." She mewed.
"I'm Goldenheart." The young warrior meowed.
"Goldenheart hm...?" She mewed.
"Yes." The warrior replied.
"Well, back to camp we go." Frostwing mewed.
Goldenheart nodded her head and began walking behind Reedeye. Greer padded by Goldenheart's side, casting an awkward look down at her paws. "You okay there Greer?" She asked. "What if the cats don't like me?" She blurted out slightly.
"It'll be fine." The warrior soothed. Greer's tail twitched.
"No cat will hurt you. I promise." Goldenheart mewed.
Greer blinked in shock.
"What?"
"It's just that no cat's ever promised me anything since..." She shook herself. Goldenheart felt a stab of guilt. Greer frowned. "I shouldn't concern you with my life.. I'm sorry..." She mewed, flattening her ears.
"No! It's alright!" Goldenheart mewed. Her frown slowly faded away. "So uh where do you come from?"
"Twolegplace." She replied simply. "You were a kittypet?" The ScarClan warrior asked her.
"Not necessarily," She replied.
"We're here. Welcome to ScarClan." Silverwing meowed. Two cats stood guard at the entrance.
