Emeraldeye looked at the stary cat. "But if.." She was stopped when the she-cat raised her paw.
"It says it's a gift for you." She mewed. Emeraldeye looked at the fox. "You can stay with us!" She beamed.
The fox beamed for a brief moment but whimpered, putting it's paws over its eyes.
"It fears that ScarClan would hurt him." She went on.
Emeraldeye nudged him. "I won't let that happen. I promise." She mewed sweetly.
The creature blinked, tilting it's head then licked her ear.As the sun looked to be sinking between the leaf stripped trees, Crimsonstar stood in front of his clan with Goldenheart, Reedeye, and Silverwing sitting beside them. "Cats of ScarClan! We are a clan of warriors, therefore we cannot afford to dwell here any longer!" He yowled.
"What?!" Blizardscar exclaimed in shock.
"Why?" Hummingclaw asked. Emeraldeye sat outside the entrance with the fox she called Poppyheart. "Shh." She hissed softly. The fox kept quiet.
"Twolegs will destroy this den. It is rotten, old, and can no longer keep us safe for as long as I have hoped." The leader replied.
"Then where will we go?!" A cat hollered.
Crimsonstar looked to Silverwing. "We found a place with a help of a friend."
"My mother says there is a fresh strip of territory suitable for us." Reedeye put in.
Emeraldeye looked at Poppyheart. "Just follow me and stay quiet." She mewed standing up.
The fox followed.
Silverwing flicked her tail. "This is Poppyheart." She meowed.
"He's the one who showed us the territory!" Goldenheart meowed. "A fox?!" It was Dawnshade who gasped. "Crimsonstar! Are you trying to kill us all?!" Ratjaw hissed, shielding Mousenose.
Emeraldeye pressed Poppyheart. "It's ok." She soothed.
"Emeraldeye is right. She says the fox gave it to us as a gift for saving its life." The leader looked down at Skyfoot and Flamepelt as they were the cats that did so.
Cats murmured and snarled under their breaths.
"Now I've seen everything." Shadowtuft growled.
"Crimsonstar, are you mad?! Foxes kill cats! It'll get bigger and slaughter us all!" Beartooth yowled, raising his high. Cats shouted in agreement.
Emeraldeye growled and ran up and stood on tbe Highrock. "Then why sacrifice its home for us?! Why would it not attack me when it had the chance in the tunnel!!!" She yowled angrily. Not a cat meowed a word then. "She speaks the truth!" Sleekpelt yowled, weaving her way through the silent cats. "Is it because of fear that you all see this is what you call wrong?" She challenged.
Emeraldeye eyed them each before flicking her tail and walked back down to Poppyheart.
"Fear of going against your precious customs?" She went on.
All of the cats were still silent. Crimsonstar cleared his throat. "We thank this creature. My decision to move to this land is final, now all of you stop acting like a bunch of kits!" He yowled.
Cats murmured but didn't dare argue with their leader.
Crimsonstar flicked his tail and turned walking away.
"Take us to where you showed us." Emeraldeye mewed.
The fox obeyed and it seemed that night was falling.
The ScarClan cats looked back at their old camp with sorrow but followed the fox.
Frostwing, Swiftfur,Appleheart, and Burnclaw all helped carried Mousenose and Ratjaw's kits. While Dawnshade and Blueheart carried Mistlekit and Britstlekit.
They reached the tunnel.
"Wow!" Breathed Icefoot. "It's almost like this was made for us!" She looked around.
"Good job Poppyheart!" Emeraldeye purred. Cats congratulated and thanked the fox. The fox yipped.
"And with Poppyheart no Clan will dare attack us!" Meadowstripe meowed. "Well now I've seen it all, and I'm not even old." Slatetooth meowed.
"Hey!" Thornfurl snapped.
Emeraldeye giggled and looked around. Crimsonstar leaped up on a tree stump. "Cats of ScarClan! You know why we had to leave!" He yowled.
Cats nodded their heads. They would conquer the cold and bitter leaf-bare. Now that they had a territory to suit themselves, they were a Clan.
