A man wearing a black cloak with his hood shielding his face came walking up the snow covered cobblestone path. It was Shuí's uncle, Kai.

December 18th had arrived the day Kai closed down his school for the holidays like he did every year to see Dan and comfort him after his wife's passing 5 years ago on Christmas Eve.

Dan hung up Christmas decorations above the fireplace and even had Buranku decorating the tree. Shuí wasn't at home she had to buy everything for Christmas dinner.

As Buranku reached to put the star atop the tree the door opened letting in a blast of cold air. Buranku turned to the door "I'm sorry sir we are closed for the holidays" he said apologetically.

A tall thin man wearing a black cloak stood in the doorway one of his fiery eyes were shielded behind a metalic half face mask. They gave off a strange presence a familiar aura but Buranku couldn't quite put his finger on it. "Oh I'm here to visit my brother and beautiful niece for the holidays" The man said "I didn't know they would invite someone they didn't even know 6 months. "No I've only been here 3 months" Buranku growled.

At that moment Shuí came in and hugged her uncle. "Uncle Kai this is Buranku, he's a survivor of the attack on the lower-class area from 4 months ago. Isn't it great there's survivors? It was such a barbaric attack. They treated it like a game" Shuí looked at he uncle he nodded at her softly petting her head.

December 24th midnight had arrived everyone was in there rooms except Buranku. He sat alone in the family eating room with his chair facing away from the table starring at the night sky. Shuí pulled a chair and sat next to him.

Moments of silence passed. Shuí opened her mouth to speak but hesitant to speak she closed her mouth again. She opened her mouth again and spoke "why don't you talk to my uncle? He's a nice guy and I think you'd really get along." Buranku looked down "no I know that man.... I met him before.... I just don't know where"

Shuí sensing his concern smiled warmly at him. "I'm sure you're worried about nothing Bura". Buranku couldn't help but smile back "yeah you're probably right. Oh look the sun is up" with that said and done Christmas had truly begun.

"Bura I talked to my dad about you staying here he told me as a Christmas present you can stay here for as long as you want, he's really grown to like you!" Buranku smiled and hugged Shuí. "Merry Christmas Shu"
