Oh lord, here we go again. I thought as I looked down at the pool of water below me. It was so small from this high up. I distracted myself by thinking about how the color of the illuminated blue water matched the color of my eyes. Then of course, my fantastic assistant had to pull me back to reality. I heard Randall's voice through the earpiece, "Mark, are you almost ready? You need to get changed." I rolled my eyes as I glared down at the tank. Do it for the fans, Mark. Do it for the fans.
I turned on the diving board and walked to the small platform where another assistant patiently waited. I removed my charcoal sweater and dark pants, stripping to nothing more than a speedo. I noticed the assistant's eyes lingering on the many tattoos covering my rather toned body. I gave the girl a wink as I handed her my clothing and walked back to the edge of the diving board. I could hear the crowd chanting. Lingo! Lingo! Lingo! Ah, they badly wanted me to jump. And jump I shall.
My name is Mark Lingo, and I'm a twenty-seven year old professional magician. I'm becoming one of the most popular magicians in the country, a dream come true. I live in an amazing penthouse, in the most beautiful city and country. Ganderville, Estheria. That's where I live. Brown hair, blue eyes, tattoos and muscles, I've been nominated "Most Handsome Man" three times, and I've won once. Life is good. Life is good.. Life.. is good...
I constantly remind myself that when I remember just what the hell I do for a living and just how dangerous it can be. For God's sake, I'm literally jumping from twenty-eight meters in the air into a tank that is 6 meters deep. That's about a ninety-two foot jump into about twenty feet of water. The only catch is that I'm a magician. There's nothing magical about jumping into water, unless you're jumping into a ridiculous amount. As far as the crowd knows, I'm jumping into only six feet of water. I'm not too good at math, but there's a hell of a difference between twenty feet and six feet.
This is how the trick works. There's a tank on stage that is six feet deep. The top four and a half feet of that tank is made of clear glass. The other foot and a half can't be seen through. A camera shows the crowd that the tank really is only six feet deep with a side and top view of the tank. As I climb to the top of the diving board, the camera focuses on me. The bottom of the tank is basically a trap door, which opens to reveal another fourteen feet of water. I jump from the board, land in the tank, quickly swim to the top so the platform can close back up and the trick is over. The crowd can't be above that one and half foot of the tank or the trick is caught. The key is also for everyone to be quick: I have to quickly swim to the top of the tank, the assistants have to quickly close the trap, and the cameramen have to time their transitions correctly.
This is the trick that made me famous: The Leap of Fate. I sigh at my thought as I return my attention to the water.
"Lingo, it's show time." Randall spoke through the earpiece. I removed the tech and handed it to the same assistant who held my clothing. Tensing my body, I prepared for my jump as the crowd started the countdown. I looked at myself on the huge screen one last time.

Yay! My second actual book! ^-^
I'm super excited about this book, I've been thinking about writing it for a while. I don't know if y'all know, but I actually started writing Florence Academy at the beginning of last year. I feel like my writing has changed a bit from last year, so I really vibe with this book. I honestly expect it to be better than Florence XD
Anyways, I hope you guys like like it! Don't forget to leave comments, vote, and follow me! I appreciate when you do! Also, I like to know your opinions of the book ;P
Oh, and sorry it's a bit short. The chapters should get longer soon, this was just how I wanted to start the story and be...dramatic...
That's really all I have to say, sooooo, peace!
Lots of Love, Kal~
{Sorry for the second edit to those of you getting notifications, I realized there was a detail in the trick description that didn't quite make sense}
