Chapter 4

(Turn skip to the campaign)
Mike's POV-
Will didn't kiss me that might when we went to the basement, I almost did but Nancy came down right when I wanted to. We were doing the campaign we planned. I was about to do something important when my mom called "boys! Dinner!" We all got up and went upstairs and sat down at the table, I sat on one side, Nancy beside me, Will sat on the other side of me, Lucas sat across from me, Dustin sat next to him, Holly was sitting by Dustin in her highchair, and my mom sat beside Holly on the end of the table. "Mike, Nancy, your dad is still at work, something happened so he had to stay extra late." My mom said "okay." Me and Nancy both said "when will we get to meet your dad?" Lucas said, oh right, I forgot they have never met him, but I do give small hints of who he is every now and then. "What if I told you that you already have met him?" I said "I'd call bullcrap." Dustin said and I laughed "well I'm saying you already have met him." I said, then my mom set our food down on the table. We all started eating, except Will. "Will?" I said and he looked at me "hmm?" He hummed "why aren't you eating?" I said "um, that-" he got cut off by him kinda coughing, I got up and took him to the bathroom immediately. He held to to the sink and started coughing more, then he coughed up that slug thing. Then for a spilt second he wasn't there and then he was. He told me about this when one time he just ran to the bathroom for no reason, then came back and told me what happened. I now help him if it happens and he can't get to a bathroom quick enough. "I'm sorry I keep making you take care of me for this." He said "don't be sorry Will, I love helping anyone, and I love helping you." I said "thank you." He said "no problem." I said, the door was closed, perfect time to kiss me. As soon as I thought that Will's lips were on mine. I kissed back and my god! It was amazing! We pulled away and smiled, we'd been wanting to kiss for awhile now, I don't know why we didn't. I walked out of the bathroom first and sat down at my seat, then Will came out and sat down in his. "What happened?" Lucas said "Will was having a coughing fit." I said "okay, why'd you go with him, to watch him have a coughing fit?" Lucas said and Will chuckled "I'm not going to explain that." I said and started eating again, I didn't explain it because all I could think about was that kiss. "What is it with you and secrets?" Lucas groaned "it's called a secret for a reason, your supposed to keep it a secret, and I just happened to have a lot of secrets, way more the you think I have." I said "oooh, maybe some of them are things you don't have to keep anymore, tell." Dustin said "eh, Lucas might cry on some." I said and Lucas spit out his drink, inside his drink, it got everywhere around him. "What?" He said "I don't cry." He said and I scoffed "let me think, um, that 'one time', that other time when I yelled at her, um, let's see, at the *clears throat*," 'funeral' I mouthed "oh, that one time when when you fell off your bike, and much more that I can't think of." I said "okay, one: you were crying at the thing to, two: that 'one time' I had a reason to cry and you know why, three: the time you yelled at her was also the time we saw that.....let's say that thing because you know what I'm talking about and you were crying to, and four: I really hurt my knee when I fell." He said and I laughed at the last one "I bet I can only name just a few time when you cried, and I already listed a few, hmmm, let's see, where do I start? Oh yeah," 'every time you and Will got separated for more than a month' he mouthed "um, actually, you cried last night because-" "don't, just don't." I cut him off not wanting him to say why I was crying last night, because Will is here and my family is to, but the reason is because I thought of what would happen if everyone was dead and I was the only one on earth, I don't know why I thought that but I did, and then I started crying because I wouldn't have my friends, family, and Will, also last night I told Lucas me and him are dating, he really wasn't surprised "because-" he tried again "no, do not say it Lucas, I swear if you say it I will kill you." I said "becausehethoughtofwhatitwouldbelikeifheweretheonlyoneonearthandthenstartescryingbecausehewouldnthavehisfriendsfamilyandWill." He said really, really quickly, nobody understood him but me and Will, me and Will are used to people taking fast, because we do it all the time. Will almost spit his water out when he heard it. I turned a deep red when he said it, he just smiled and said "and he also told me-" "Lucas! Stop!" I cut him off and he stopped, after Will recovered from almost choking he said "what? And especially why?" I turned an even darker shade of red, "I don't know, I was just sitting and thinking, and sorta just started thinking like that, and then that happened." I said and Will laughed a little "okay, now that I think of it, should I be happy, weirded out, or laughing my butt off?" Will said "I think the second one." Lucas said and I have him the death glare "okay, I have no idea what you just said, but I heard Will and crying in that, should I even ask?" Dustin said "no." Me, Lucas, and Will said "okay then." He said "Mike?" Nancy said "what?" I said "can I talk to you in private?" She said "yeah." I said and she got up and I followed. She took me to the living room and started talking quietly, so that told me to respond quietly. "Did you bye chance, she Barb when you were in that place?" She said "um, yeah." I said "what?" She said "I did, but she wouldn't have made it if we tried to save her." I said "okay, I just wanted to know, how did you even save Will though?" She said "when we found him, he was trapped in the thing, passed out, and had this thing in his mouth, we pulled the thing out of his mouth and got him out of the trap thing, we started giving him CPR, mouth to mouth, anything, and finally he woke up." I said "okay, I also wanted to tell you something." She said and I nodded for her to go on "me and Jonathan are dating." She finished "yes! Always wanted it to happen!" I said and she laughed, she went back to the table, I went to. I had finished eating, but I wasn't allowed to leave until everyone else finished. While I waited I stuck my hands in my pockets and felt both notes that Will gave me. I took out the first one I found, when he was still missing, and read it, over, and over again. I loved the note, it made me smile on the inside, and on the outside. But I didn't smile on the outside so I wouldn't look weird. "What you got there?" Nancy asked trying to look at it, I pointed it in the other direction, and now Will could see it. "Nothing, just a note." I said "about....." She trailed off, I could tell Will was reading. I decided to put it up, I folded it and put it in my pocket. "About some corny stuff." Will said with a smile on his face, I chuckled, it was really corny, especially the part where he said I brightened his day just being in the same room as him. "Why'd he get to read it, and I didn't?" Lucas said "because it was pointed towards him, of course he'd read it." I said "well, on a scale of one to ten, how corny was it?" Lucas said "and I swear to god if you say eleven." He said "I wasn't going to, I was gonna say twelve." I said "no, at least a fifteen." Will said "yeah." I said "why would you swear to god if he said eleven?" Nancy said "um, I, um, don't know." He said and I face palmed "trick question, she already knows, idiot, remember?" I said "right, sorry." He said "why won't you just try and get over it?" Dustin said, Lucas turned to him and held up four fingers "four days ago! Four! And your asking me to get over her! After four days! Really??" He said madly "one, two, three, four, four days ago and I'm not going to get over!" He said "okay, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Dustin said. Finally, after what seemed like forever, everyone was finished. By then Will had to go, Jonathan came to pick him up. Dustin and Lucas left before him, Lucas was mad at Dustin for saying to get over Eleven. "Bye!" Will said through the window of Jonathan's car and I waved as they drove off. Will goes back to school tomorrow, let's hope this goes well.
