Kubo turned around and searched frantically throughout the darkened room as all of the blood in his face seemed to go cold. His heart beat faster and faster as the voices seemed to get louder and louder.
"Come to me, Kubo..."
The house once more began to shake even more and the walls surrounding them began to collapse. Just then, one of the sliding doors at the front of the house slid open as a tall, caped figure began slowly heading its way inside of the house. The shadow figure let out one final laugh and began to search the house.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are! I promise I'm not going to hurt you, Kubo, I just wanted to stop by and pay you a little visit... We haven't seen each other in so long... And I believe that you have something that belongs to me..."
At the sound of that, Kubo gasped a little and then held his breath.
The figure turned around and laughed once more. "I've found yoooooooooou..."
It came closer and closer and it repeated the young boy's name: "Kubo... Kuboooooooo..."
The Moon Prince turned around as the voice seemed to change into something more loving- friendly. Familiar...
"Kubo?"
"Kubo?"
"KUBO! WHAT'S WRONG? WHAT'S GOING ON?! GET A GRIP OF YOURSELF!"
He gasped and let out a small scream, panting heavily as tears seemed to well up in his eye.
"Kubo! It's okay! It's just me!" Sach said, holding out his paws.
"Sach!" Kubo exclaimed in a shaky tone of voice, leaping into the otter's furry arms for a hug. "Oh Sach..."
"Kubo, what's going on? What happened to you?" the anxious mustelid asked while holding the shivering prince in his arms.
Kubo was shellshocked. He simply did not know how to reply; all of the words were at the tip of his tongue, however when they came out, they turned into nonsense - the kind of babbling a young child would make.
"Kubo, calm down. Everything is going to be okay--"
"No, Sach!" Kubo interrupted. "Everything is NOT okay! The whole village is in danger!"
"Kubo, look at me. I can assure you that everything will be just..."
"You... You don't understand! She's there, still alive, and she's out to get what she's come for!"
"What are you talking about?"
The boy began shaking faster and his breaths became short and raspy, almost as if he had just gotten finished running a marathon. The blood drained from his already ghostly pale face. He tried to speak, but no words came out.
"Take a deep breath, Kubo." Sach said in a calming voice.
Kubo did just that. He took a large, but short breath and exhaled loudly through his mouth.
"Good," the otter said with a small smile, "now another."
He obeyed. He took a few more long breaths. His heart rate decreased considerably and color began returning to his face. Along with this, Kubo's sweet face managed to leak out one of his signature, infectious smiles, which was soon enough passed onto Sach.
"Good. Now that you're calm, can you tell me about who you said was going to come after you?"
Kubo's smile slowly formed into a frown and the color in his cheeks began to go again, yet, this time, he actually was able to make words come out of his mouth.
