"And that was the least of it," Kubo told the rest of the Octonauts inside the cave at Mortal's Point, sitting in a circle around the firewood as he finished up his story for the second time this week and his grandfather - the Moon King - watched on. "Or so I thought it was."

"What happened?" Captain Barnacles asked.

"I had a vision the other day where I saw one of the Sisters trying to take my other eye. Turns out it was true when I saw her again while Sach and I were trying to run away from her. I... I thought I defeated her."

"Why would she want to take away your right eye?"

"Because that's my last link to... this world. My grandfather, before he reformed, wanted me to live with him in the heavens where he thought I would belong. My aunts were sent to blind me from humanity - seeing it with the only eye I have left."

Dashi was the next person to ask Kubo. "You like it here, don't you?" she told him.

"I do," the young boy answered. "I love telling stories of my father's quests to the villagers every day, whenever I can. I... I love it here."

The dachshund nodded. "Right," addressed Barnacles, "we need to figure out how we're going to protect Kubo from his aunt, and fast."

"And there's not much time left until she comes back to snatch his last eye," Sachairi added. "So what should we do?"

"I know!" Kwazii suddenly chimed in, having been (unusually) silent for the past couple of minutes. "You have an eyepatch over your left eye, right, matey?"

"Uh... yes," Kubo hesitantly replied.

"Well, then all you need is a swashbuckling sword and it'll be enough to defeat that silly ol' witch! You could be a pirate, just like me!"

"Wait a minute," Sach responded. "Since WHEN must you always assume somebody's a pirate just by seeing if they have an eyepatch on?"

"Well, excuse me for growing up in a family where all of us wore eyepatches even though our eyes worked perfectly!"

"So if your eyes are working just fine, then why are you even wearing it in the first place?!"

"Family tradition!" Kwazii exclaimed with a disgusted face. "Plus, me grandfather and father both didn't have the guts to let old grand-pappy know that he truthfully didn't lose his left eye to a flotilla of..."

"Kwazii! Sachairi! PLEASE! Enough!" Barnacles said, putting a paw to his head in frustration. "We're in a very urgent situation!"

"The captain's right, Kwazii." Sach said, with nervousness in his eyes. "Kubo's life is potentially on the line here and we need all paws on deck to come up with a plan of action in order to protect him."

"Aye..." Kwazii said, letting his tail droop submissively. "So... you're not a pirate at all, Kubo?"

"No," the boy bluntly pointed out.

"Didn't you listen to the story he JUST told you?! The kid has an eyepatch because his once psycho grandfather and his equally as psycho aunts stole it from him!" Sach argued, narrowing his eyes.

"Well, I'll have YOU..."

Barnacles cleared his throat. "AHEM!" He looked over at them, arms crossed over his chest and left paw tapping onto the floor in aggravation.
