Your POV
Here I was, sitting alone as always. It was homecoming and my 'date' ditched me for another group of girls and my other friends are probably grinding on their dates. So here I was, alone with a cup of punch in my hands.
I looked down at my dress that I paid good money for and regretted even coming. I'm usually not one to go to dances but I was asked so I went.
A Lil Yachty song was playing when I spotted my date being grinded on by the girl I hate. I rolled my eyes and got up to chuck my punch in the trash. I was furious.
I was stomping my way to the bathroom when I bumped into someone.
"Ugh I'm sorry." I said not bothering to see who it was.
I began to walk away when my wrist was gently grabbed.
"Hey I think this is yours." My eyes met icy blue ones. I was instantly captivated.
After staring long enough, I looked at his hand to see the corsage that my ex-date gave me.
"Oh I don't need it." I said grabbing it and throwing it away.
"Why are you throwing it away? Where's your date?" He asked concerned.
I pointed towards him. He was holding a girl's ass while she was throwing herself on him.
"Oh. I'm sorry." He said looking back at me.
"Yeah. Well if you don't mind I have to go to the bathroom." I said awkwardly walking away.
With that I left to go check my makeup. I looked in the mirror and noticed my eyes were watering. I sniffled and fanned myself. No boy deserves these tears. I got out my lipstick and quickly touched it up and left.
I sat down at the same empty spot, going on my phone. It had been a few minutes when I felt someone's presence in front of me.
"Hey." I heard. I looked up to see the same boy as before, instantly lost in his eyes.
"Um, hi."
"A pretty girl like you shouldn't be alone. Dance with me."
I opened my mouth to deny but realized what a party pooper I would be if I did. I decided I just needed to let go and forget about tonight and have fun. And that's what I did.
Hayes, his name was Hayes. He made me forget about everything and made me feel happy and loved. I'm glad he asked me to dance with him.
