A/N: Cocoa!!!

I plopped down on the bed, and Cocoa still didn't stop talking. I realized I might not get much sleep in this arrangement. We talked for about half an hour. Cocoa had said some things that she probably shouldn't have said, things way too personal, and I wasn't sure if Jade would appreciate all of them. Nothing bad, but things that she might've been too young to understand knowing not to say them. I learned that Cocoa and Jade were orphans, and they had been at Aberdon since Cocoa was five, and Jade was nine. Scorch knew, she had been there since she was 12, and Scorch and Jade were best friends, and had been since they first met. Jade had raised her hand when Scorch walked in, before Adalene had announced it. Maybe she was tired of her sister, or maybe she just knew. All Cocoa knew was that they were best friends.

Cocoa and I had been talking for a while, probably about thirty minutes, when two girls walked in. One looked relatively like Cocoa, except with green eyes, who I assumed to be Jade, and another girl with long, straight, red hair, brown eyes, and what seemed to be a permanent mischievous grin on her face. When Jade saw me, she yawned, introduced herself, and collapsed into the bed. Scorch took a single glance in my direction, "Welcome to Freak School, Amber." and sat down in bed, "Enjoy." she waved her hand, and the lights went out, and I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning to a lovely close up of Scorch's face.

I screamed, and Scorch announced, "She's up!"

Jade laughed from the other room, and Cocoa was on her bed, already ready for the day, "If you're up after Scorch, you can almost guarantee she will do something. She was being nice."

I stood up, and in a rage, slapped Scorch hard in the face. She smirked at me, "Oh, it's on, Cupcake."

"What did you just call me?" And then I was promptly tackled by a Scorch.

"Guys," Jade tore Scorch off of me, "We have to get ready. Today is the first day of classes. You can't be late today."

"Fine, fine," Scorch held up her hands like an act of surrender, and I somehow (Probably the evil smirk on her face) realized that in real life, Scorch would never surrender. I was glad that I was going to be her friend.

We hurriedly got dressed (The school uniform was hanging up for me in a closet, fitting perfectly), and Jade and Scorch took me to breakfast. Cocoa had gone to the school library to get a book. The dining hall had a breakfast bar in it now, with sausage, eggs, pancakes, and bacon. ohmygoshilovebaconsomuchitsmyfavoriteandaaaaaaaaaaaah.

We ate breakfast, then a few students were passing out schedules. A boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes handed me mine, "Amber Delainey?" I nodded, and he walked off. Wow. He was cute.

I must've been making a face, because Scorch said, "Honey, don't even think about it. That's Jake Shining. He might be cute, but in reality, he's a jerk. He plays Rockshy for the school, and he's pretty good, but honestly, he's just a pretty face."

"Rockshy?" I asked. I had never heard of it.

"It's a game that we play," she explained, "Kind of like a mix between dodgeball and soccer."

"Oh," I said, still confused.

Scorch simply sighed and looked away, waving her hand over her shoulder, "Newbies. Anyway, what classes do you have?" she took my schedule and looked it over, "First is Basics, Accelerated at 9, then Elementals at 11, then a three hour lunch break at 1, then is Study hall, 4:30, Library at 6, a two hour break for 'Study Buddy', and then finally, at 8:30, you have astronomy, with lights out at midnight. Dinner is during study buddy."
