"Miss! what do you mean you cant come?"

"i just cant."

"its your graduation!".
"what would your parents say?".

"nothing. They'll say nothing, because i dont have parents."

"w–what?"

"could you just please send my graduation certificate to me please!"

"no miss! we cant do that unless you have a really important reason."

"i'm currently not in Korea."

"where are you then?"

"i'm in China."

"oh."

"do you expect me to fly back all the way to Korea just to collect a piece of paper?"

"i mea–"

"yeah. So just send it to me. I'll fax you the address."

"uh–"

"do not. and i mean do not ever tell anyone my address. arrasseo."

"ne."

Yi–Ern hung up the phone with a heavy sigh. The last day of school was 3 days ago and Yi-Ern booked the earliest flight to China. She doesnt bother going to graduation or prom. She has nobody to go with either.

She dropped her body onto the couch in her empty apartment. She breathes in the smell of new paint. She opens her eyes to a white ceiling and looks around her new home. It was so empty, the only furniture she had was a couch in the middle of the room. Her eyelids start to feel heavy after hours of painting her apartment.

"i'll just take a short nap."

Her short nap turned into a 4 hour nap. She woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. She checked the caller ID and it was a call from Korea. She hesitantly answered it.

"yeoboseyo?"

"ne, anyeonghaseyo. When would you like your graduation slip to be delivered miss?"

"now."

"address?"

"shit. I was supposed to fax it. Nevermind. just write this down."

"ne."

"(whatever house address)"

"okay, we will deliver it now."

Yi-Ern hung up and stretched her body. She looked at the time and it was already 8pm. She hasnt had her dinner yet and she currently has to save money for rent.

"maybe i should get a roommate. Then she'll pay for half of it. And then with the extra money I should furnish this place too."
