A few more music classes later and everyone had finished singing a series of songs, Mr Forrester had given out the marks for the assignment and asked those people who got over 95% to stand up. Perrie unfolded her paper, and froze.

She had gotten 100%. Her first ever 100%.

"Perrie? Are you alright?" Jade asked, noticing her friend had froze in place. Perrie didn't move, so Jade leant over to look at her score and she gasped. Jade was happy for her friend, even though she only got 94%, one mark away from being in the top of the class, she was ecstatic. Jade pushed Perrie towards the front of the class, where the other three people stood. Perrie didn't snap back into reality until Mr Forrester said her name.

"Huh? What?" She said, confused. Mr Forrester laughed at her confusion and repeated what he said.

"Perrie, since there are four of you who got over 95%, I've decided to make you do a duet with one of them. I've put Niall and Tara together, that means you and Zayn are partners for this project okay? Now, for the rest of you, you can choose your own partners. I want a duet from all of you, doesn't matter what genre it is or what it's about. Got it? Good, now let's go people!"

Perrie looked over at Jade, who was looking back at her already. They originally had a pack that if there was to be a duet done in class they would be partners, but now they cant. Perrie sent Jade a sad look, before she looked over at Zayn. He had the same cocky look on his face as when they had detention with Mrs Morgan.

"Great. Just great." Perrie muttered to herself, then walked over to Zayn. Zayn groaned internally; why did it have to be Perrie? Why did Mr Forrester put her with him? Zayn may never know. He crossed his arms and glared at nothing, just staring at one spot in particular, and didn't look back up until Perrie cleared her throat.

"So, uh, we going to get started or what?" She asked, full of confidence. She had those random bursts of emotions sometimes, she didn't even know when they would appear but when they did it was very helpful.

"Yeah, but I get to choose the genre." Zayn said, already looking through his phone for a good song to sing.

"Sure, just please not rap."

"Tough luck, love. That's exactly what I was going for."

Jade had partnered up with Louis Tomlinson from the group at the back of class because, well, he was the only one left. Louis had gone up to Jade, took her hand and formally asked her to duet with him. Jade looked at him stupid; what the hell had gotten into this boy? Wasn't he the jokester? Jade agreed anyway, a) she didn't want to be rude and b) there was no one else by the time Louis had asked. They had sat down in Jade's spot because she felt uncomfortable with the idea of sitting at the back of the class.

"So, Jade. What do you want to sing?" Louis asked, taking a seat in Perrie's chair.

"Um, I honestly have no idea. But I don't really like rap music, or country." Jade said.

"That's cool. I was thinking a pop song anyway. That sound cool?" Louis offered.

"Yeah, sounds alright. Now, let's choose a song now. I really like Payphone by Maroon 5, what do you think?" Jade asked, but she was answered by Niall.

"Oi! No copying! We're doing Payphone!" He shouted from behind them. Jade sighed.

"Okay then, what do you suggest." She asked Louis.

"Well, I heard this song on the radio the other day. It's called The Fighter. It's by the Gym Class Heroes and it features Ryan Tedder. Here, I have it on my phone." Louis said, offering Jade a headphone as he pressed play. They listened to the song, and Jade ended up agreeing to that choice.
