Life is balanced. So, for example, if you're having a moderate time, the balance is going to tip one way or another. But, if you believe that a day can be completely bad or good, you're wrong.

I woke up excited and full of hope. My girlfriend of three years had just conceived our first child after one year of trying. I wanted us to be a happy family so, I decided to propose. I had it all planned out, I wanted it to be perfect.
I turned round to cuddle her but, she wasn't in bed which was weird because Rachel had a terrible childhood; when she was 8 her parents abandoned her in the middle of the night so, when she woke up because of a bad dream she couldn't find them. Now, she always wants someone to be there when she wakes up. I went to the bathroom but, she wasn't there either. Downstairs, I found her eating alone in the kitchen. I didn't give it interest and I continued with the plan.
I began talking to her about us and our love; our future. She seemed different, distracted, upset; thinking that she was on to me, I stared into her eyes, kneeled down and said:
"Rachel Thomson, I love you and you love me. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and legally, this is the best way. So, what do you say? Will you marry me?"
She stared at me for a while and I began to worry. Finally, she said while stroking her belly, stuttering:
"It's....its....Mark's...."
I felt like someone had ripped my heart out. I couldn't look at her, picturing her in my mind and I was disgusted. Immediately, I got up, picked up my dog Daisy and ran to my best friends house, Rob.
At Rob's, I saw him with his family, wife and kids. They looked happy. I couldn't help a smile. I went inside and told Rob what had happened.
I know Mark since kindergarten and he was supposed to be my best friend.
They invited me to have breakfast with them. I agreed.
"What else could I do right now?" I thought, then looked my watched a thought. " It's only 9 o'clock, I have time."
We had a pleasant time but, it didn't make me forget anything.
Me and Robert work together, well I work for him. He's my boss and I work in his business, it's going well. We're engineers but I'm working as a car mechanic while I get my masters in Industrial Engineering. Every morning, after breakfast, I walk to Rob's house and at 9. 30 he drives us to work.
On our way there, stopping at a traffic light, the  flower-delivery van in front of us on the right lane, stopped drastically and his flowers fell out. They were blocking the road so, I got out of the car and began picking them up when the van began to back up.
Everything was black.
All I remember was Rob running towards me and the roof of the hospital hall.
I remember the pain of the doctors putting my dislocated leg back into place.
But, most of all, I remember the extreme pain if felt on my left foot.
