chapter 3: Black hole

It was silent at the table.Just the sound of our utensils and chewing." The food is delicious ma'am." Jackson comments.

"Oh please call me Crystal." She replies all too jolly. I look around the table and smile when I finally see Frank joined us for once. I'm guessing Crystal demanded.But when I come to Lexi... She was only staring at Jackson, Eating and drinking whenever he does.Now I see why Devan get possessive when it comes to Jackson.I smile and laugh to myself amused.

The silence is broken again when a loud ping sound comes from a phone.I look at mine to see my screen is lit up. My head was still looking down from the table when Crystal says,"Honey would you like to be excused?"

" Yes please."I walk to the room near the dining room and it so happens to be the indoor pool. I decided to dip my legs and finally open the message that was from Shawn.

Shawn: Hey,they at it again :(

Madison: Oh no.

Shawn: You busy?

Madison: Not at all.Hey Lexi is here.You can stay.

Shawn: Thank you again :)

Madison: Anytime :D

I lay my phone next to me and lean back on palms not wanting to finish my lunch anymore. I start to swing my legs back and forth. "Hey." I hear Alexis say.I turn around and smile " Hey."She sat down beside me and dipped her legs in too.

"Who was it?" she asked.

"Shawn." I frowned.

"Oh no, they're fighting again? They're so lucky that they have one child right now. I mean Shawn was so disturbed when he was small apparently, well that's at least what Devan said."

I lay my head on her shoulder wondering how life has it's own ways of distributing the love and comfort.Alexis stands up and I look at her confused."where are you going?"

"Home.Dad said I HAVE to go for this family auction.Pray for me."

"Well good luck " I get up and laugh then hug her.

"Bye love." She hugs me tightly.

"Bye." I whisper.

I walk her to the door and bid farewell and close the door . I turn around only to have a mini heart attack.My hand was clutched to my chest as I gasp." She's cute." Jackson says casually.

After I calmed down and looked at him ,annoyed ,I reply," And taken."

I walk away from him to find Crystal. Which could only be the kitchen.But I see Frank and smile." Thanks for joining us at the table,for once."

He chuckles slowly and smile," Well Crystal is quite the fighter sometimes."We both laugh and I return to the kitchen.

 I see Jackson," Jackson !" He smile at me.

"Hey Mad."He waves.I glare at him ,"-ison,sorry bad nickname.It sounded better in my head." He saves quickly.

There she was, washing the dishes." Hey mum."I say calmly trying not to stress too much.I make my way to the sink to wash my plate.

"Mum?"

"Yes. Mum." I smile. She laughs.

"And why now?"

"Just.Someone gave me a reason too." I smile to myself. 

"It's like hearing you say your first word all over again."She kisses my forehead.
