"...Werewolves...as in full moon, silver bullets, and all that?" Rose chuckles at my shocked expression and cliche reaction.
"Not exactly. There are some that are like that, yes, but the ones in this region don't need a full moon to change, only a vampire in the region to initiate the process. They can turn at will or when angry. And while these don't infect others with a bite, they are still dangerous due to their volatile nature."
"...So they're more anamagi than werewolves?"
"Basically, yes. But I'm serious Amber, stay away from them. These boys can hurt you, kill you even. They can blow up over the smallest of things and may lash out at you in their fury."
"How am I supposed to avoid them if I don't know what they look like in human form?" Rose huffs in annoyance as if all of this was common knowledge. Hello, bitchface! Glad to have you back!
"As far as I know, it's only the boys that have the ability to phase. Before they turn for the first time, they go through a huge growth spurt, their bodies turned feverish, and their tempers become shorter and shorter until they lose control."
"Rose... you don't think Seth could be a wolf, do you?" She sighed and tucked a stray bit of my hair back behind my ear like she was my mother.
"I don't know, Bear. Just be careful. And get some sleep. We start school tomorrow." I nod as she gets up and leaves the room.

I jerk awake to the sound of some moron banging on my door. Do these people not know that I am in no way, shape, or form a morning person? What the hell?
"AMBER, WAKE UP!!! ESME WILL KILL YOU IF YOU MISS OUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! WE'RE LEAVING IN THIRTY MINUTES!" Emmett yells through my door way louder than necessary.
Shit. I look over at my alarm clock over on the nightstand and see it's 7am. School starts at 8. I leap out of bed, dash into my bathroom, and race to get ready. With no time to actually make my hair look decent- thank you, bedhead- I pull my naturally thick, red waves up into a simple ponytail. Because of that darling time crunch, I keep my make-up simple: just foundation, blush, and mascara. As soon as I finish in the bathroom, I sprint over to my closet and throw on the first things my hands touch, which just so happens to be a grayish-cream colored strapless top with a bit of lace detail, blue skinny jeans, white boots, and a few matching accessories. Alice will be so proud.
"About time!" Em says as he snatches his keys off of the kitchen counter.
"Rose, would you mind helping Emmett? He seems to have gotten his panties all in a twist," I say in a sugary-sweet voice. Everyone else chuckles while Em growls and stomps like a PMS-ing teenage girl all the way out to his jeep.
"Amber! Be nice!" Esme gently scolds.
"Oh, come on! I'm just kidding around," I respond as I bite into a banana, which is the only kind of breakfast I actually have time for. She just smiles and shakes her head before coming over and giving me a hug and a kiss on my cheek.
"Have fun at school and try to behave."
"Don't I always?" I give her my signature mischievous grin as I follow everyone else out to the cars. I start following the boys over to Em's jeep when Rose grabs me by the arm and pulls me over to her convertible.
"You might want to ride with me today. Unless you want Emmett to try to get you back for that comment earlier."
"Oh... right. Thanks for that."
