(3) Fire Glen

Chapter 21

Iris's POV:

I stood there looking at Ray. Million of questions flew into my head. But I'm sure I won't get any answers.

"Scarlet."

I looked at Violet. I knew what she wanted me to do. I walked to the other side of the room. Emma, Star, Jake, and Shadow stood there. They were probably waiting for me.

"Ah! Princess Iris, you finally made it!" Shadow yelled, clapping his hands.

I stood next to him, looking at Ray.

"Why did you bring him here?" I asked.

He smiled politely.

"To punish him of course!"

He looked up, and he looked at me. For the first time ever, his eyes were filled with hatred. I looked away.

"What are you going to do?"

"Bring him pain."

A bright light suddenly raced acrossed the room. It hit Ray. He screamed. I watched in fear. My friend I grow up with...That thought ran into my head. I had to do something.

"What are you doing?!" I yelled.

They all turned to me.

"This boy is with the Barians, Princess. We have to punishing him."

"By killing him!" I shouted.

Emma glared at me.

"Princess-

"Don't call me 'Princess'!" I screamed.

I had enough. My best friend's life is on the line. I'm the only one who can save him.

"Let him go. I will take the punishment."

Shadow shook his head.

"No."

"No?"

The light stopped. He turned to Star. He nodded. He took out a whip. Why didn't I notice that before?! He walked over to Ray. He raised the whip, and brought it down. It hit Ray flat on his back. He kept whipping, in the same spot.

"Stop it! Your hurting him!" I screamed. 

Star raised the whip one more time. I suddenly ran in front of Ray. Blood dripped from my cheek, from he whipped me. Ray looked looked at me. I stood up, and looked at Shadow. Star raised his whip.

"Wait."

Everyone turned to Jake.

"We can take the boy hostage, and tell the Barians to bring the other three, in order to release him."

"Good thinking boy."

Shadow turned to me.

"Consider, yourself lucky."
