The next day, Avery seemed really down and bothered by something, i asked what was wrong and she wouldnt answer. I guessed it was about school because we have 2 tests and 3 homework assignments to be set today so i wondered if that was it. "Hey Avery, are you okay?" i asked, she just replied with "Quinn, i'm fine." i excalimed "No your not!" and I hugged her, she hugged me back as someone shouted at us "FAGGOT!" and Avery started crying. "Hey Avery! C-come here, ignore them." i cried out in panic not wanting to see her upset as i walked out the school doors to the courtyard and sat her down next to me in the usual corner we sit in alone, because of our homophobic school mates. I let her rant to me and she let me listen, she spoke about the hate she gets from our school and other induviduals that weve never met.
When school had finished i walked to our lockers and grabbed my jacket then waited while some poeple shouted out things like "FREAK!" and "FAGGOT!" to me, Avery eventually arrived, as soon as she saw me she bursted into tears again, "W-W-why does e-e-ever-yone hate us???" She cried out to me, "I-i dont know" i grabbed her hand and ran out of school with her while crying from seeing her tears. I dragged her out to the back of the school and i pushed her against the wall softly and whiped away her tears. I kissed her and she smiled. We hugged for about 30 seconds and then walked home together, holding hands, and if someone decided to call us out or say something rude about us then i would squeeze her hand and smile at her when she looked at me. I was the one who would always stay strong and try to keep Avery happy all the time but she breaks down very easily because of her past.
I arrived home and as soon as i got in i saw my mum making a cup of tea, "Hey dear, how was school today?" she asked without turning around, "Fine mum," i replied while grabbing my phone from my pocket and autommatically start messaging Avery, i wrote "Hey babe, im home xx".
