A yellow face looked to a blue face and said,
"You are like me, and yet you are foreign to me."
The blue face agreed.
A red face turned to the blue face and said,
"We are similar, but I am far bolder than you."
A green face turned to the red face and replied condescendingly,
"Yes, but I have more power than you."
A gray face stood between them all,
fearfully listening to the whispers
of a light face and a dark face.
I cannot tell you what the light face said to the dark face,
for they speak many words that are never fully remembered
and are always raging against one-another.
Listening to them both
is a golden face and a clear face,
both changing according to
the words spoken.
The yellow face and the blue face reside in the heart,
and are rarely influenced
by the light face and the dark face.
The red face and the green face reside in the mind,
influencing parts
of the green face and the blue face.
The gray face counsels parts
of the heart and mind,
but stands down
to the gold face and the clear face.
The light face and the dark face
are influenced by the gold face and the clear face,
and each take a place on a different shoulder.
The gold face is hard to find,
and the clear face is eager,
and yet all of these faces
reside behind your face.
