Alani sprinted through the halls of the jedi cruiser, the Damnation.

"Hey Crusher, have you seen master Karalah?" She asked skidding to a stop. The clone soldier shook his head.

"She is on the bridge, commander." A navigational officer replied respectfully. She nodded her head in thanks and sprinted off again. Alani enjoyed her morning 'find Karalah' runs around the cruisers and bases they visit, they often tend to last more than a few hours.

"Good morning, Master!" Alani greeted, as she entered the bridge.

" Good morning, Alani." Karalah said smiling as Alani

"So what's our mission today?" Alani asked eagerly.

"You can't sit idle for long, now can you my impatient padawon?" Karalah teased narrowing her eyes at Alani. Alani giggled.

"Of corse not! My spirit longs to be free of the confines of this dreaded ship!" Alani exclaimed animatedly, tossing her arms into the air as she spun on her heal. Karalah laughed at her padawons antics.

"Well, you'll be relived to hear that today we will be lead a group to search for a hidden droid bace." Karalah informed, once her padawon stopped the theatricals. Alani showed her the disapproving scowl that had formed on her face. "Don't look at me like that! We're bound to get put on the front lines soon enough." Karalah sighed, Alani was getting tired of being tossed around.

"I don't understand why they haven't already. I mean, we're perfectly capable, and lest be honest, you're perfectly ready to have your own command!" Alani huffed pacing the deck and talking with her hands. Karalah smiled in exasperation as Jedi master Stass Allie, the General of this command, came up beside her. Alani kept going on about them not being on the front lines and having to be ferried around by other Jedi.

"A fiery one, isn't she?" Stass said watching with interest. Karalah hummed.

"Alani, i think we'd best be going." Karalah said intervening Alani's sentence on how their five clone companions weren't practical for a big battle nor a covert mission. All they ever did was small missions like this but why was it just them? Usually the smaller missions get distributed among all the jedi. Karalah was as confused as her padawon. Sure they didn't really min but it still felt a bit odd that it'd been over a year since they had a, major mission. Truth be told, they where rarely ever put on big missions, yet at the same time they where considered one of the best padawon-master teams around.

"Okay let me just..." Alani trailed off as she dug in her pockets and felt around her belt. Eventually, she pulled her leather gauntlets from and inside sleeve on her cloak.

"You ready then?" Karalah asked straightening her own cloak.

"Yah..I think." Alani muttered, adjusting the straps on her gauntlets.

"Good luck, master Karalah, padawon Alani. It was... entertaining to have you aboard by ship." Stass said bowing in farewell.

"Thank you, may you have much luck in your coming battles." Karalah said as her and Alani bowed in return. The two turned and started down the halls to the hanger.

As they walked Karalah noticed Alani's face fallen. She bumped their shoulders together. Alani looked up with a light smile. Alani didn't like being passed around from ship, to bace, to out post. It depressed her that most people they met would probably die before they met again.

"Beat you to the hanger." Karalah smirked before running ahead.

"Just incase you didn't know, you're an awful example!" Alani called with a laugh as she quickened her pace.

"Ok everyone teams of two, Trip and Hacker, Fourth and Kix, and Tucker, alani will be accompanying you." Karalah ordered.

"What about you General?" Hacker asked.

"I'll have to stay here and relay you the energy spikes we've being getting." Karalah nodded holding up a tablet. They nodded and split up into their assigned group.

"yes master." Alani nodded and went to leave. Karalah stopped her in a panic by grabbing her arm. "What's wrong?"

"I-I just want you to be careful." She said not even knowing the cause of her fear. Alani smiled comfortingly as she nodded.

"I will

"General Stratager this is Commander Tucker. I kinda lost General Alani." Tucker told her cautiously over the coms.

"What do you mean you lost her?" Karalah exclaimed turning from the maps and looking to the forest.

"It's probably better i tell you in person." Tucker said timidly. Karalah huffed, why did he have to make everything difficult?

"Tucker, stay right there. I'm coming and whene i get there I'm gonna hear the full story, got it commander." Karalah replied sternly. She stood with her hands on her hips, taking a deep breath before marching into the woods ready to kill a clone.

"Tucker." Karalah yelled approaching him."I want to know everything that happened!" Karalah demanded, crossing her arms.

"We, um, found the bace and she got a head of me. She was poking around some brush when a Sith and a couple of droids ambushed her. I shot at them. A-and I swear I tried, i really did general, but they got her. One of the droids broke off and came after me so i ran the other way, eventually he gave up." Tucker said in a low voice. How could i have been so stupid? I never should have let her go with Tucker.

"Show me where she was ambushed." Karalah ordered with a steely voice.

"Follow me."

As they walked Karalah tried to force sense Alani but the attempts where futile. She couldn't see how, unless she was dead, she could be hidden from force sensing. This made Karalah's fear increase. Even though Tucker said they took her, she couldn't get the image of Alani lying dead in the middle of the forest. With no one to take care of her. Karalah's stomach lurched as she attempted to push the thought out of her head.

Tucker stoped and pointed at a large tree. "That's where they ambushed her." Spots of mental walls could be seen as the trees thinned ahead. Karalah looked around spotting scorch marks from lightsabers, imprints of kicked up dirt, and blaster marks.

"General." Tucker called from behind her. She turned to see him holding something out to her. Alani's lightsaber. She reached out and took it gently as if it may crumble in her hands.

This is the first revision chapter that I'm republishing. I'm not changing anything major but if you are rereading this and notice any thing different that's obviously why. I hope that this version turns out better and is more enjoyable.
