HAPPY PILLS : LASHTON

ashton hasn't taken his antidepressants in days. he's been back and forth to the pharmacy and out for coffee once more with luke. he's happy. he wakes up a morning. he spots his pills as he goes to open his sock drawer. he smiles. he feels completely and utterly okay. he grabs his watermelon socks out and slams the drawer shut. before he leaves the house for the small coffee shop they usually met up in on wednesday's, he hears the phone ring. he quickly jogs back. it's luke. ashton's answer is familiar to luke's; full of excitement. but luke says he has to cancel. the small boy's heart drops. but he's soon invited to come spend the day with luke at his house. ashton's grin lights up the room. ashton waves goodbye to his mother once more. she grunts but he's already out the door.
