Silena looked at the wound, a smile plastered across her face. "Is this all?" Baxter shook his head. "I also have some busted ribs, and I think my lungs are deflated, but beside that, yep." She giggled. Her hands brushed against his skin, letting the blood from the wound cover her fingertips. "This may feel a bit odd." Her hands covered the wound, covering every tear in the flesh. Baxter winced as he felt the skin pulling over the hole, his radius jumping back into place with a sickening snap that would make most men pass out. The arm looked good as new, no scar, or hole. She ran her hands over his chest. He winced, feeling his ribs slowly pull back into place. "How do you do that?" She shook her head. "Can't tell you, old family secret." Baxter smiled, just happy to be relieved of pain.
She smiled, sitting down beside him. "Fun first day as an officer. Not many get a homicide turned drug bust on their first try." He smiled, ignoring the pain from his damaged lungs. She leaned closer. "I suppose I should fix those as well." He nodded, glad she remembered. "Alright, just lay back on the couch, this will take a moment. If he could groan, he would have, but instead laid his head back, relaxing for his treatment. Silena ran he hands over his chest, searching for a place close to his lungs. "Hmm, I can't seem to find a close point." Baxter sat up, taking in short breaths. "Oh I know." She wrapped her arms around him, placing both hands on his back. "What are you..." Silena brought her lips to his, running her hands over his back gently to fix his lungs.
After a few moments, Baxter wrapped his arms around his savior, returning the kiss. "Do you kiss all your patients?" She smiled, a slight blush overcoming her. "N... No, you're the first." He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him. She kissed him again. "I knew there was a reason you stuck around me."
Silena checked her phone. "It's only seven, I don't usually get home till one anyways." Baxter smiled, not entirely sure how she would even get home without a car. "Just stay here tonight, you live across town in the utopia district right?" She shook her head in protest. "I couldn't burden you like that, especially since we kicked in your door." Baxter laughed and looked at the remains of the door. It managed to shut, with the help of a coffee table. "Trust me, I don't think the owner saw that yet, plus I already know my eviction is coming up. Just stay here, that way nobody breaks in with that door like that." She let out a sigh of defeat. "You really want me around, don't you?"
Baxter flopped onto the couch, if it even qualifies as one. Holding out a remote, he turned on the TV. The half static station briefly showed the news, mostly just a static image of the reporter as the slow signal carried on. He groaned and stood up, dragging his beaten body to his bedroom, where he changed from his bloodied uniform to a nice set of casual clothes. He stared into the mirror, glancing down at his trembling hands. Baxter had killed several people tonight. He took lives, and ended the dreams of four people.
Silena placed a hand on his shoulder, comforting the new officer. "Trust me, it gets easier." He closed his eyes, not wanting to face the corporal. "I want you to tell me about the vice squad." He turned to face her, a new seriousness to his glare. She closed her eyes, thinking. He sat down on the couch, preparing for the story he's about to hear.
