Baxter walked out into the cold December air, the snow falling onto the top of his hoodie. "Well lets take a walk around town." He looked at his companion. She was about five and a half feet tall. Her long red hair flowing in the wind, a pair of cracked and broken goggles resting above her forehead. She wore the basic uniform, cargo pants, a bullet vest, and a white t-shirt overtop. She wore a blue hoodie over the shirt that compliments her hair perfectly. Her sky blue eyes staring out into the air randomly. "Kid?" She waved her hand in front of his face. He shook his head, coming back to reality. "Oh sorry about that. Spaced out a little." She smiled, glad to see her new apprentice is alive. "Say what's your name anyways?" The rookie smiled. "Daxton, Baxter Daxton." She nodded. "Nice to meet you. The others don't like to get close to the new guys. They tend to die on first missions." Baxter frowned then went to respond. "No time, lets go for our walk, also you have to keep up the whole time or you're out." Baxter's eyes went wide as she took his hand. She sprinted across the street, narrowly dodging cars and trucks as she recklessly rushed across the street, pulling the poor rookie behind her.
Once across the street she let go, motioning for him to follow. She leapt onto a nearby dumpster, jumping up and grabbing a nearby fire escape ladder. Baxter went to follow, only for her to kick the ladder out from beneath her. "You need to adapt!" He looked around, climbing onto a nearby fence and jumping over to the fire escape. "Not bad, but that was a basic fix." She climbed onto the roof, breaking into a sprint at first chance. Baxter followed closely, watching every step she took. She reached the end of the roof, below a busy highway full of rush hour traffic. To his surprise, she leapt from the roof, landing safely below on a parked car. Baxter followed fearlessly, only less of a majestic landing as he hit the ground. She turned and looked at him, wincing as she saw him land. He got up, continuing his chase without mercy. She smiled then bolted through an alleyway. Knocking over trashcans to slow him down, Selina was having the time of her life. Most rookies didn't start with her, instead starting with a private. But then again, most of them didn't have natural skills like Baxter. She would soon find out how skillful he really is.
Baxter caught up to her in seconds, nearly grabbing her hood as he attempted to end his training early. She led him across the whole city, finally reaching the back alleys of the old quarter. He paid no attention to the changing scenery, focused on his target, he chased her relentlessly. She was having so much fun leading him around. She didn't look where she was going as she ran into the most dangerous neighborhood in Prosper City. With a thud, she slammed into a hooded figure. He caught up shortly after, staring at the figure that awaited them. Selina stood up, fixing her goggles. She backed up, stopping right in front of Baxter, drawing her gun. Baxter, confused, drew his gun, glancing over to his trainer. Selina's face was white, as if she was staring at a ghost. "Baxter... run." He looked at the figure then back at her, then back to the figure. "Baxter this isn't time for arguing, you have to run now." He didn't notice what she was worried about. A bullet hit the ground at his feet, nearly taking the gun out of her hands. There were snipers on the rooftops. He lowered his gun, instantly breaking into a sprint. Selina took off after him as he bolted towards the figure. She threw her hand out, reaching for him. He lunged at the figure, stopping in mid air. "No! I wont lose another!" He couldn't move, stunned by what has happened. He glanced back looking to his captor. To his surprise, Selina was nowhere to be found.
Selina slammed her fist into the figure, missing as he simply stepped out of the way. Baxter, still recovering from his surprise, opened fire at the snipers. The figure, realizing what he's up against, rushed towards Baxter. Selina grabbed Baxter's arm breaking off into a sprint to escape the street. When they were out of the area, she looked at her follower, making sure we didn't get shot. "This didn't happen. Deal?" He nodded, worried for his fellow officer. She then started to walk back to the precinct. Baxter smiled. "We aren't done yet, right?" She turned to face him. "Today we are." He smiled and followed her. Half way home, she turned into an alleyway. He followed closely, not wanting another fight. "I forgot to tell you something, and I owe you something." Once they were in the darkness of the alley, she grabbed Baxter by the neck of his hoodie. Completely thrown off, he was unable to defend himself. To his surprise, she smiled at him. "You just saved our lives." She brought her lips to his. She wrapped her arms around the rookie, looking into his eyes. He returned the hug, glad to be out of that neighborhood. With a shared smile, the two walked back to the office, taking every alley possible.
