the Voice

"Ciel, dear," her voice sang softly as we sat together on a stone bench in the garden.

"Yes, Lady Amare," I answered her. I suddenly felt very tired. I wanted to frown at her but I couldn't control my face, so I simply gave her my deadly stare. She had been humming quietly for a while and now she began to sing softly. It was a sickly sweet tune with words I couldn't understand. I closed my eyes wishing I could fade away.

"Oh dear, you don't look well," the Lady stopped singing and looked concerned. "Maybe I should call Sebastian."

"No!" I said. My eyes shot open and I straightened my back. "I'm feeling absolutely fine."

"Hm.." her eyebrow rose as she seemed to be contemplating something.

"I have a question for you," I decided to change the subject. If she insisted on calling Sebastian it wouldn't go well. Especially since he's currently searching her mansion for certain photographs.

"I have a question for you too," She stated. She had a sly look on her face, "But you can ask first of course."

"Why am I here?" I mused. "You could have invited me many times before, why now?" I wanted to know how much she knew about the situation and maybe find the reason for the blackmail. I doubt she wants money, she's quite well off already, I pondered, and she doesn't seem to be power thirsty either. Her only interest seems to be entertainment.

"Oh I was hoping you would ask something of the sort." She smiled. "You see, I have been wanting to meet you for quite some time. But I knew that even if you wished to come, your butler wouldn't allow it. Sebastian can be a very jealous man, especially when it comes to his prey. And I would be jealous too, if such a beauty as you were mine." She reached out her hand and traced my cheekbone.

"What is the meaning of this?!" I almost shouted while swatting her hand away. "How can you say such things, who told you I belong to Sebastian?"

"Poor child," She let out a chuckle, "The whole underworld knows of you. Every demon is jealous of your contract. Such a pure soul with such a frail body. You'd make anyone's mouth water. Not only demons crave your touch. But no one can challenge Sebastian, of course. He's a demon fit for such delicacy. I admire his self control greatly. Im sure he yearns to consume you every time he lays eyes on you." I blushed slightly, my jaw clenched. She smirked.

"Now I ask my question. What is your relationship with Sebastian, do you belong to him?"

Suddenly my cheeks began to burn. I remembered every close moment I had spent with Sebastian. The things we did that would have felt wrong with anyone else but felt simply perfect with him. That close bond that no one could deny. I clenched my fists.

"Sebastian is simply my butler," I spoke angrily pronouncing each word separately.

"Is that the case?" She smirked. "Well then he is simply one hell of a butler," She laughed motioning to my flushed cheeks. I frowned.

"Well then, I suppose he won't mind a little intrusion if things aren't so serious between you two." She began to sing. That sickly sweet song filled the air and I began to feel dizzy. I tried to stand but my limbs felt numb and wouldn't cooperate. Soon I couldn't even move my lips. What is wrong, I felt panic, there had been nothing in my drink. What is this?! But suddenly, I realised, it must be her voice! I wished that I could still speak so I could call Sebastian. But if he really cared then he would already be here, I thought, that damn good for nothing butler!

The last thing I remembered was Lady Amare wrapping me in her arms and thinking to myself, Where the hell is my butler??
