The Day My Life Changed...Forever

On the way to Michaels house we listen to twenty one pilots. Both of us sing at the top of our lungs and laugh when one of us gets the lyrics wrong. "So what are your parents like" I look at him and he looks at me then back at the road. "Um they're nice.  They respect what I want to do with my life which is a bonus." He chuckles a bit and I have to look the other way so he doesn't see that I'm blushing.

After about 10 minutes of driving we finally get to his house. We both get out and start walking up to the front door. He opens the door and walks in and so do I. It's quiet except for the faint sound of music in the background. He walks into the kitchen and I follow. His mom comes up to him and hugs him tightly. He pulls away and looks toward me. "Mom this is Rose" Michael says as he backs toward me smiling. Karen puts her hand out to shake mine so I do. I feel weird, I don't know why but I do. "I'm karen Michaels mother" she smiles. I nod my head and looks up to Michael telling him that I feel awkward with my eyes. He nods and tells his mom that we're going upstairs to play guitar.

When we get to his room he sits on his bed and pats the spot next to him. I sit and he starts asking me what I know how to play. "I know how to play alot but I haven't held a guitar in forever" I say looking down. I can tell he gets up because I feel the bed come back up from the spot he was sitting seconds later the bed is pressed down again from him sitting. I look up and he's holding 2 guitars. He hands me one and I sit it on my lap placing my fingers on the frets and strumming a few cords. I'm smiling by the time I looks back up and so is Michael. His smile is perfect it's like the sun has just risen again. "Thank you for this I needed to get out of the house for a while" I smile and strum a few random cords. He smiles with a little chuckle. "Everyone needs to get out of the hemmings house sometimes."

We play duets for a couple hours and then my phone chimes. A message from Luke asking when we'll be back. I write him that I'll be home in an hour. "Luke" I say putting my phone down. He nods and puts our guitars away. "Do you want anything to eat before I have to take you home?" He asks while putting the blue wihout red outline on the stand. "I'm ok but thanks" I smile as he sets the guitar down and turns around and smiles. "I should probaly get you home then before Liz starts to worry" I get up and walk over to him he smiles at me which makes me smile again. We walk downstairs and say bye to his mother. I don't feel as awkward this time but the feeling is still there. Michael walks toward the door and I follow walking to the car and getting in.
