"UGH! I'm coming, mom!" I yelled, leaning up from my warm, cozy bed. I did not want to get up, but I knew I had to. It's the first day of school. I threw on my usual clothes; dark, and comfortable, and thumped down the steps. I could already smell the fresh scent of bacon that was coming from the kitchen. My mom was always a great cook. I sat down at the table in the dining room as she walked over with a plate of bacon and eggs. While I was eating, my mom asked the question she ALWAYS asked. "Why don't you wear something more, you know, flattering?" she asked with a hint of concern in her voice. "Mom, your NOT going to ever get me to wear one of those stupid dresses" I replied, rolling my eyes. Here's the thing. No, my mother is not rich, but she is obsessed with fashion. It takes her like two hours just to do her makeup. "You will someday" she smirked. I really doubted that. My goal in life was to stay hidden, and so far, I think I'm doing very well. If I wanted to keep it up, then I can't act like one of those wanna-be populars who dress all preppy. I was running late so I scoffed the food down my throat and rushed out the door. Yes, I know its really sad that I'm 17 years old and I'm not driving yet. I didn't pass my drivers test so my mom just HAS to take me in her car. "Why can't I just go on the bus?" I asked her, opening the door to her fancy, red Ferrari. "Because, it's a tradition! I drive you to school every year on the first day" she said like it was the best part of the year. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window as we drove away. Our house is a 10-minute walk to school and I didn't understand why I couldn't just walk. As we arrived at the school, I stepped out of the car. Of course all of those idiots HAD to stare. I walked through the front door with my head down, so that maybe I could get away with being invisible. Deciding to be the stupid idiot me, I felt a thump as I was walking. As I stumbled back, I looked up and met contact with a pair of beautiful, blue eyes. I caught myself staring and shook out of it. "Oh I'm really sorry" the tall, handsom boy bent over to pick of the few books I dropped. I couldn't stand how perfect he was. His perfect, dirty blonde hair, slicked back, messy, but it was so perfect. When he smiled, it was like my whole life lit up around me. "Thank's" I said as he gave me my books. I knew I had to get away from him before I did something idiotic. I power-walked to the classroom, hoping I lost him. I went to the back of the room in the corner, where no one sits. I knew I still had to blend in as best as I could. I scrambled through my backpack, making it look like I was busy so no one would talk to me. That's when I heard the door close. I look up to see who came in, and sure enough, it was the boy. The one I bumped into in the hallway. NO,NO,NO! I thought. He was so distracting. I knew he spotted me as soon as he walked and, and he had to take the seat right next to me. I knew, this was going to be a long year.
