Everything was going fine in the lunch room. I mean, everything was chaotic, as always, but it just felt normal. I knew exactly where Ella was so I didn't care that much that she didn't sit with us today. As I took a bite out of my large cheeseburger, a sharp pain flew through my head. It was like a thousand needles poking my brain and that's when I knew, they were here. Riley was having a conversation with the girl next to her so I nudged her to alarm her that they were here. We ran down the hall and right out the front door. There he was. A man, dragging Ella to his white van. Of course, it was a white van. "Hey! You!" I screamed trying to get his attention. The worry in Ella's eyes scared me half to death. I don't know what that man will do to her if I don't get her back. I pull out a gun from my inside pocket, and yes I know it's strange to carry a gun around and aim it right at the man. That's when he took out his too except, he pointed it at Ella who is still struggling from his grip in his arms. "Put it down!" I yelled as I walked forward. "Don't come any closer or I will shoot!" the strange man replied with a harsh voice. I couldn't take it. Fear was building up to me that something horrible would do something horrible to Ella. So, I steadied my hand and pulled the trigger. The bullet flew through the air and was headed straight to the kidnapper. It hit him right in the chest and he fell to the ground. Little did I know, a second bullet went off too. Did I accidently shoot two? No. Ella fell to the ground with her right shoulder gushing blood. The man had shot her. "Ella!" I yelled as I bent down to help her. No, no, NO! This isn't happening. The problem is, I can't take her to a hospital or doctor because of our type. I need to bring her back to my house. I lifted her up and carried her to my car.
As we drove home, neither of us said one word. Ella got shot in the shoulder and I must find a way to treat it before she loses too much blood. Damn it Lewis! Why didn't you get there quicker? Riley was following us in her car right behind us. I looked over at Ella, her energy has been drained and she looked incredibly weak. "Everything will be okay," I told her. We pulled into our driveway and I lifted her out of the car and brought her into the house. I carefully placed her on the couch so she can lay down and rest. Riley brought over some Advil and some water. Now. Now is the time I need to tell her. I sat down on the couch beside Ella. "Ella, there's a couple things I need to tell you" I said, trying to be as calm and normal as possible. I went through how we belong to the species of Inhumans and I told her about her mother and Colton. It all seemed to go by so fast. "You've got to be kidding me" Ella said, sitting up and staring at me like I was insane. She didn't believe us. I KNEW this would happen. "I know I sound crazy but you need to trust us, Ella. You are not safe. Your in danger" and that was that. It took a bit of convincing but once Riley and I show her our powers, she was starting to believe us. She is going to need allot of training.
