Brooke—
Shane had slowed down to the speed limit. It wasn't the first time I've seen this, but it always gets to me.
Cop cars and an ambulance passed us. Shane kept his cool as he drove, discreetly looking into the review mirror.
"Let's just hope there was no cameras." Shane muttered.
"There wasn't." I reassured.
He smirked, placing his hand on my inner thigh, "Good girl. Maybe I'll go a little easy tonight. Since you've been so good this past week."
I had to fake a moan of pleasure as he dug his nails into my skin. That was how I learned to survive and not get hurt. Fake smiles, fake pleasure, fake fun.
~*~*~
Shane groaned, flexing his shoulders as he sat up on the bed. I watched as he gathered his clothes and began to dress.
"You might want to shower and dress nice tonight. I'm having dinner with a very important friend, and you'll be my wife for the night." Shane stated, his voice hoarse.
I nodded, "Yes sir."
He turned around, his cross tattoo on his chest showing. He smiled, "You've been such a good girl. No wonder everybody wants you. Too bad you're my girl, because da*n, you're a pleasure."
"I learned from the best." I sighed.
"Of course, you did." He stated slyly.
~*~*~
Shane gripped my waist as he talked to his friend. All the other girls were with Noah, his partner, or out with other guys.
"Da*n, your girl's a beauty." Derek smirked, looking up and down my body.
Shane dug his nails into my skin, obviously feeling jealous. I sighed. I looked up and faked a smile.
"Thank you."
"Yeah. I know. That's why she's mine." Shane stated, gritting his teeth.
I looked back, focusing on the bowl of mashed potatoes in front of me. I sighed, "Shane, sweetheart, no need to be jealous. I want only you."
Shane gave a small smirk, kissing my cheek. "Of course, baby."
"Do you guys plan on having children?" Derek asked.
Shane sighed, "We're not really sure. Maybe one day, down the road. We've got to much on our hands now."
I bit down on my lip. I didn't want children. Not having them live like this. I don't remember much from my childhood, but I was once innocent. That was taken from me a long time ago.
I faked a smile and looked, "I hope you boys are hungry."
"What's for dinner?" Derek questioned.
"Meat loaf, and mashed potatoes with corn." I answered.
I picked up the bowl and went around the counter, setting the bowl on the kitchen table. I got the rest of the food and sat it out, along with plates and silverware.
Minutes later, Shane and Derek were digging into their food. Talking with foul words, and talking with food in their mouths. It was disgusting, but sadly, I was used to it.
I ate slowly, losing my appetite quickly.
"Are you pregnant, Brooke? My wife was once, and you look really pale." Derek asked, swallowing his food.
Shane looked to me, a scowl etched on his face. He placed his hand on my thigh, digging his nails into my skin again.
"Are you, baby?" Shane questioned.
"No." I answered, "I'm just not hungry. I don't feel well, I'm sure it's just a bug."
Derek nodded, "I hope you get better. My daughter just came down with something from school. A lot of kids are gettin' sick."
Shane gave a small smile, "Thanks for the warning, Derek. I'll make sure Brooke won't get sick. She's a strong one."

IM BACK! Okay, guys. I swear, I'm working on my books. I just have a lot of stuff going on. School being one, but I have friend who is going through something with her health. It would mean a lot if you guys could keep her your prayers. She really needs it, and it worries me. If y'all could do that, thank you so much. I just pray that she'll be okay.
Anyway! Vote and comment!
