Hey guys! This is my first story EVER on Wattpad. I've been quite the silent reaer, but decided to write my own story. I haven't planned this out fully and I'm not sure how it's going to go or if I'm going to continue with it, but we'll see where creativity takes me!  -kd

Prologue~~~~

She stared into the mirror and smiled. It looked unnatural, almost forced. Her foster parents continually tried to get her to smile more often, but her attempts slowly turned into grimaces. As she looked at her body, her piercing blue eyes wandered down to the white gauze that was taped across her ribcage.

Wincing as she ripped it off, she stepped closer to the reflection to admire the intricate swirls and detailed lines of her new tattoo. It was still puffy and red, but the familiar sting was comforting to her. After all, she had 27 of them scattered across her alabaster skin.

The kids at school called her 'weird' and 'emo' and treated her like a leper when she walked down the halls, but she had learned to ignore the taunting laughter and not-so-hushed whispers. No one bothered to approach her; their fear of her prevented them from doing so. No one bothered to ask her how she was doing or why she had marked her body with permanent ink. She had her foster parents, but they didn't know the whole truth. They didn't know about the nightmares or her haunting past. They didn't understand and they never would. Nobody would.
