*Asher's point of view*
It took me a while to reach the light. The deeper I got into the woods, the brighter the light shined. Every time I looked behind me I always asked myself if I should turn back to where I came from, but every time I looked back I knew I couldn't retrace my path without telling the entire kingdom where I was. If I did that, I could be taken by anyone who wanted to hold me for ransom.
Looking forward toward the light I saw floating right above a clearing. I made a dash for it, but as I came closer I ran into something. An invisible wall. The unexpected force knocked me on my back, leaving me puzzled. It could not have been possible. I tried making my way forward once more, and I had the same result.
Now I was getting worried. Really worried. No one knew where I was, and it was getting too dark to travel back.
Why would I be lead here if I couldn't find my way in?
Unless it was a task I had to complete. Like a puzzle I had to solve in order to get my prize. Or in this case, to get to the flashing light that lead me here in the first place.
Looking around I realized that my puzzle idea was useless. The force field was clear, so I didn't see a difference between the regular air and the field.
Frustrated, I picked up the nearest object and threw it towards the light. It wasn't reflected. It didn't disintegrate. It made its way past the force field and landed not to far from the light.
Now I was puzzled. I picked up the nearest stick and did the same thing. I got the same result.
This makes no sense whatsoever. I tried going forward using my body, but I was thrown back. When I threw sticks towards it, it went through.
Pacing back and forth I realized that I was wasting daylight. I am not used to these woods, and I don't know what creatures that roamed this place. Panic soon replaced any sense of knowledge and I started ramming myself into the force field.
Pain surged through my body and I couldn’t take it so I took some steps back, trying not to scream in agony. It felt as if a thousand ice shards were being pinned into my skin. Fire never hurt me, or anyone in my kingdom for that matter. But this was something entirely different. Cold doesn’t mixed with hot. It never did, it never will. We don’t have much cold in my kingdom, so this is the first time I felt something of this temperature. And I hated it.
Taking in deep breathes to control my breathing I saw something in the woods. The white of eyes. But these eyes were far too big to be human eyes. I looked to my left and I saw the same looking eyes. The body was too far away to be seen, but I knew that there were animals not to far away from me, and if I don’t find my way to the other side, where the light is, I’m going to become dinner.
The adrenaline surged through my body as I did the only thing that I thought might work. I ran straight toward the force field again, but this time I told myself to fight the pain.
Slowly and excruciatingly my arm made its way through. With a sense of accomplishment I pushed harder and harder. I didn’t care if anyone could hear me because I let out long screams, but I kept fighting against them.
Soon enough I made it through the force field, barely alive. The pain I had felt when I rammed into the field increased as I made clumsy steps towards the light, and right when I thought I was safr, I fell out of consciousness. The dark consumed my vision as I fell right in front of the light.

I knew there was something really odd when I saw the blinking light, but that did not stop me.
