"Elena! Your dad just pulled up with Katherine!" Mom calls from downstairs. I finish putting my shoes on and I walk down to greet her.
"Hi!" She pulls me in for a hug and I wrap my arms around her.
"I'm glad you're back!" I tell her. I look behind her and see Jonah holding on to her shirt.
"Hey buddy! Did you have fun flying?" I ask him and he nods. Katherine picks him up and he hides his face in her neck.
"Jonah, it's time to meet your other grandparents, they've been waiting to meet you and are so excited." Katherine tells him. She rubs his back and he looks back up at everyone.
"Jonah, this is your nana and papa." I tell him. Mom decided to be called Nana and dad wants to be called Papa.
"Hi." He smiles shyly. Mom wipes a tear and walks over to him.
"Hi Jonah. You're a beautiful boy." She smiles at him. We all walk out back and Jonah sees my old trampoline.
"Mommy! Can I jump on it?" He asks Katherine and she nods her head. We follow him to the trampoline, helping him up.
"He's always asking for one of these, but we don't have a yard for one." She laughs.
"Poor little man. Do you guys have one of those trampoline parks?" I ask her and she nods.
"We do! I take him once a month." She tells me.
"So how are things with you and Damon?" She asks with a wink and I shake my head laughing.
"Good. Wonderful." I smile.
"He wants to take all of us to the aquarium one day while you guys are here. He loves kids." I tell her. We turn our heads to Jonah and he does a flip.
"Mommy! Did you see me?" He squeals with excitement.
"That would be fun. He loves the aquarium." Katherine says. After Jonah gets tired from jumping, we head back inside when dads finishing up cooking dinner.
"Katherine, we have the guest room all fixed up for you and Jonah." Mom tells her.
"Elena are you staying here tonight?" Dad asks and I shake my head no. I've been staying at Damon's ever since we got back and I kind of like it. He had a late shift today so I don't have to head over there till 10 anyway.
"No I'll be going to Damon's." I tell him. We eat dinner and talk like a normal family. I could get used to this. I really wish Katherine could have been in our lives growing up.
"I'm going to go get Jonah ready for bed. I'll be back down soon." Katherine says and we nod. I help dad clean up the kitchen and load the dish washer.
"What's the plan for tomorrow?" I ask dad.
"Was thinking we all do lunch at the grill then head out on a hike?" He says.
"Id like that. Just not a long one." I remind him and he smiles, kissing my temple. I look at my phone and see a text from Damon.
Damon: got to head home early, come over when ever. I love you.
Katherine comes back down and I walk to her.
"Hey, I'm heading out to Damon's, but dad said we will be having a family fun day tomorrow so I'll meet you guys for lunch. If you need me, just call." I say and she nods.
"Will do. Have fun at Damon's." She winks and I smirk. I grab my bag and wave bye to everyone.
When I pull up at Damon's he's just walking in to his house and stops to wait on me.
