Violet's POV.

I stutter. "W-what that can't be, Im utterably undeniably normal. I always have been." Miss Peregrine stands there smiling.

"As I said Miss Violet. Miss Isabel has yet to be wrong." She gestures to the door. "Now you two may run along, I'm going to talk to Miss Violet before supper. Please ask the others to get washed up and do make sure Millard is clothed." They both nod and run out of the study to gather the other children and wash for supper while I stand in shock and stare at the ymbryne standing with me.

I shake my head quickly. "I can't be an ymbryne miss, I've always been normal. Everyone in my family is peculiar and has manifested their peculiarity before their sixteenth birthday while I have eight days until mine."

Miss Peregrine gives me a stern look and raises a delicate yet strong looking hand, a gesture to be silent. "Any peculiar knows that they can manifest at any time be it at birth or be it just a year before they are to become deceased. A peculiar manifests their peculiarity in their own time. And you my dear are no different however every ymbryne knows that young ymbrynes discover their bird on the night of her sixteenth birthday. So do not fret because in eight days precisely your peculiarity will manifest." I mull it over and absorb the information, feeling a little flame of hope kindle inside my chest I smile and nod to Miss. Peregrine.

"So I guess this means I will be coming to live here?" She nods. "I will go get washed for supper then Miss Peregrine and I will get my clothes brought over tomorrow. Thank you." I give her a quick hug surprising her then quickly run off to get washed up.

"I will have the twins show you to your room!" Miss Peregrine calls behind me and almost immediately two little kids in white costumes show up and take my hands to lead me down the hall making little chittering noises the whole way.

"Thank you." I smile at the twins and they make a happy sounding chitter before running off. Walking into the room I close the door behind me, I stand and take in the room for a moment turning in a slow circle. Its charming and small; old wall paper with designs in gold on it covers the walls, there are two beds both large enough to hold a single person with a metal frame and matching bedspreads light blue with beautiful flowers, under the beds is one large area rug covering the hardwood floor, in one corner there is a dresser under the single window, and finally there is a closet near the back of the room.

I look down at my clothes and grimace, they are caked in dirt and grime and a little blood from falling in the cairn. Walking over to the closet I open the doors and look through the dresses hanging there before choosing one to put on. I end up changing my old dirty clothes out for a vintage 1930s pink Irish crochet top dress and my shoes get traded out for a pair of heels sitting in the closet.

Quickly I walk to the bathroom I saw on the way to my room and wash my face and hands as well as fix my hair to make sure I'm completely presentable before walking downstairs to supper. When I get to the dining room I stop and watch everyone for a second and smile at how they all seem to function like a great big family. Waiting for everyone to take their seats and in the mean time talking idly, I let out a sigh wishing my family was like this with me.

"Miss Violet, you can come sit with me." The ever observant black haired ymbryne says from the head of the table. I walk over seeing everyone stare at me as I do so and shyly take the seat next to Miss Peregrine. "You look ravishing in that dress my dear child." I blush slightly at the unexpected compliment and smooth out the bottom.

Smiling I look up at her. "Thank you Miss Peregrine." She smiles and nods in reply. We wait for a few moments longer for everyone to be seated at the ornate pine wood table before Miss Peregrine speaks up.
