Chapter 1- *Goodbye*

I finally reached our house after running away from the tree.I turned the doorknob and I saw my mom standing in the kitchen while holding a..wait,is it a flame? Her brown hair also changed color into red.Am I just imagining right now or is it really happening?

It's just your  imagination Maggie.There is nothing possible like that.Right.I'm just imagining.I badly need to rest now.I can't afford to have another hallucination.

I closed the door and walked slowly towards the kitchen.Before I could approach her,her red hair returned to brown and the flame is already gone in her hand.

"Ma?"-I called her

She looked back in my direction and I can see that she's shocked to see me at her back.

"Ma,paano na-"-before I could finish my sentence she already cut me off

"You saw nothing Maggie.Now go to your room and change."-she reprimanded me and so I obeyed

I went to my room to change clothes then went downstairs again to eat my dinner.I quietly observed my mom but I felt like she's observing me back.

"How's school?"-my mom asked me in the middle of our dinner.Dad isn't with us because he currently works in London

I wanted to tell her what happened to me at school and those unusual things that I encountered but I know that she won't believe me so I did not dare to tell her anymore.

"Same old,same old"-I imitated Rebecca's answer to her mom in Spy Kids as my reply to my mom.

"I know something happened to you there."-

I dropped my fork and I almost scream when I heard my mom's voice inside my head.

"Ma,how did you-"

"Finish your dinner now.Then go to your room afterwards."-My mom said without looking at me directly

I did what my mom told me to do after I ate.I did all my assignments first then I took a shower.I'm about to sleep when I remember what the stranger told me.

"You're beautiful miss.Your eyes are beautiful.It's deep purple."-

I got up my bed and went to my restroom to see if the guy is telling the truth or he's fooling me around.

H-how did this happen?

My eyes.It isn't black in color anymore.It's deep purple.I blinked twice to check if it's real and it did not returned to black.So it isn't an imagination.What I saw in Ms.Cassandra's eyes and the stranger's eyes is real.Their purple eyes is real.Another thing that I noticed is that my hair isn't black anymore.It's turning into grayish purple.How?How did this happen to me?Am I still normal?

Calm down Maggie.Calm down.I need to sleep now.Maybe it will return to normal tomorrow.

I finished all my daily routines before I go downstairs to eat my breakfast.For the last time before I go down,I checked my eyes again if it's still purple and nothing have changed.How am I supposed to go to school with my eyes like this?

Since I have no answer to my own question I went downstairs and is surprised to see my mom sitting in the dining chair already but what really surprised me is her hair and her eyes.Her hair is bloody red again and her eyes is the same with mine,deep purple eyes.Are we really normal?

"Good morning Ma."-I greeted her as I sat in my chair

"Good morning Maggie.Why are you wearing that uniform? Change your clothes.You're not going to that school anymore."-

Confusion took over me when my mom said that.Why is she telling me to change clothes?What does she mean by I'm not going to my school anymore?

"What do you mean Ma?Papasok po ako ngayon kaya hindi ko na kailangang magpalit."

"No Maggie.You're not going to your school anymore.I'm going to transfer you to a different school.A school for the likes of us."-

Likes of us?What does it mean?Does it mean we're different?

She handed me two envelopes after she said those.One letter came from my school and another one came from another school.

"That's your transfer form.I want you to fill up that form so you can transfer to Les Element High."-my mom continued

"Les Element?Is there really an existing school like that?Ma,I haven't heard of that school before."

"There is.Now,I want you to finish your breakfast and fill up that form.I assure you,you will be happy in your new school.You'll have true friends."-my mom said to me and she smiled.

I smiled in return and continue my breakfast.After eating,I fill up the transfer form and change my clothes into casual.

"Are you done Maggie?Let's go."-Mama

I rode to our car and my mom started the engine and off we go to school.After some minutes we arrived at my school and we went straight to the Principal's Office to give my transfer form.My mom thanked Mr.Diaz for the last time before we leave the office.

"Do you still have something to do here?"-mom asked me when we went out the office.

I nodded.I will say goodbye to my classmates before I leave.

"Magpapaalam lang po ako sa mga classmates ko."

"Sige.Hihintayin na lang kita sa kotse."-Mama

I walked towards my former room and I excused at Sir Gio for a bit.

"Maggie,why are you absent today?"-Sir Gio asked me

"I will not attend classes anymore,sir."

"Why?"-Sir Gio

"I already transfered in another school,sir.Can I come inside sir for the last time?"

He nodded so I entered the room and face my classmates.I bade goodbye to them and thanked them for everything.As I walk away from my room,tears flowed from my eyes but after 4 years of staying in this school,I've never felt relieved like this before.I dried up my eyes and walk through our car.My mom opened the passenger's side for me and I went on it.As the car move away,I took my last glimpse on my former school.Goodbye Grandeuresque Academy.I hope I can find true friends and I hope that they will now accept me in my new school.
