I fell in love with you , when I first met you

But you always wanted her

She took your pure heart into her hands ,and kept it warm

You were miserable yet happy

Happy to be with her

Then one day , she smashed your heart

Shattered it, broke it , stepped on it

I was there , to sweep up the pieces

To glue them back together

I took your shattered heart, gave you my own as a replacement

Still , you pine for her , yearn for her

I wonder what it will take , for you to realize that I'm the one you want

The one you need

The one who is always there to fix you when you're broken and wipe away your tears

I stand in front of your door , in the rain

I knock , ready to tell you I love you

As soon as you open the door and I open my mouth

I begin to feel the pain

The pain caused by knowing that you will never feel the same
