Chapter 2

Matt's POV

Some people think I'm a really tough guy, but no I'm not. Savannah's this girl that lights up my world, the peanut butter to my jelly, the pencil to my paper. I know it sounds really gay, but it's just how I feel. I can't stop thinking about her. I can't stop thinking about the twinkle of her eyes, her sparkling smile, her perfect body, well basically I love everything about her. Wait, did I seriously say the L word. Well anyway, I think about her 24/7, but I still don't have the guts to ask her out. She's always seen me as a brother, and a best friend only. What if I make a move? Well maybe-

"Earth to Matt? Hello?" Savannah snapped her fingers before me.

"Yeah, sorry. What?"

"I was asking you who you wanted to go with in your brother's wedding, but then you kinda spaced out there," she rambled.

"Well, I guess I was going to ask you but you're part of the family so you don't need an invite," my heart stammered.

"Why don't you ask a girl you like?"

"I-I d-don't like anyone," I denied

"Whatever you say, babe"

"Just drop it, okay?"

"Sure thing, babe"

Honestly her calling me babe made my day,but I just didn't want to talk to her about my "love" life.

"Well anyway, let's head to class, yeah?"

"Sure thing, babe" I said back. She just smiled.

As we got to class, I sat over with my other friend George, while Savannah sat with her new Mexican friend, Chachi.

"Hey Matt, your friend looks fine," George whispers as soon as the teacher walked in.

"Yeah, she's beautiful."

"Awww man, you're totally whipped," he teased.

"Do you really think so?"

"Yeah. Why don't you ask her out?"

"I don't think she likes me that way."

"Why don't you give it a try?"

"I can't. What if she rejects me? What if she'll hate me? What if-"

"Just stop with the what ifs. Just do it man," George interrupted.

"Fine."

-lunch-

"Hey Savannah I-I was wondering i-if you c-could go on a-"

"Oh hey Matt! Sorry, but i'll go eat lunch with Chachi for today only, okay?"

"S-sure."

"See you later!"

I just waved back.

That was close.
