Secrets

Neko's pov

I was nervous as I followed Aphmau into her house.  It was huge. Not long after we entered,  a man with black hair walked down the stairs. "Hey babe. How are you? " he said. Being me I hid behind Aphmau. "Hey. Aaron, I have someone I want you to meet. " said Aphmau.  I took this as a signal that I'm supposed to step out. I kept my hood on from earlier and stepped out.  I wasn't exactly comfortable with showing my ears and tail. "Hi. I'm Neko. It's nice to meet you. " I said. He bent down to my height. "It's nice to meet you too Neko. I'm Aaron. " he said. "Aw! Anyway Aaron, I told Neko she could stay the night. She doesn't exactly have a home. It's okay,  she's a friend of Dante and Nekoette's." said Aphmau. Aaron stood up. "Well I'm glad. You know Neko, you shouldn't wear a hood all the time." said Aaron.  I reached up and took it off. "I'm not afraid to, I just don't like the fact that I'm a meif'wa.  It's the reason my parents abandoned me. " I said. "Sorry! I didn't mean to bring something like that up!" said Aaron. "It's fine. I think I'm just going to get some fresh air. " I said. Ignoring Aphmau's protests, I went outside. I ran down the street and bumped into someone. He had snow white hair and turned around after I bumped into him. My eyes were streaming with tears.  "..?! Are you okay?!" he seemed more concerned than anything. I got up still slightly crying. "I'm fine." I said between sobs. He didn't seem to buyit. "You sure? You're obviously crying." he said.  I didn't answer. He smiled at me.  "My name's Travis. You know,  you look cool with those ears and tail. " he said.  His name seemed familiar.  "Travis? Are you Dante-kun's friend?" I asked.  He chuckled.  "Yeah. What's your name?" he asked. "Neko." I said. He smiled. "Well Neko, what are you doing out here? " he asked. I stayed silent. "I understand if you don't want to talk about it. We just met." he said. Just then a rock struck me in the head. "Ha! Still don't have anyone?  Of course you don't!  You're worthless!" said Jason. I turned to face him. That's when I lost it. "I've put up with you for to long Jason! I'm tired of listening to you call me names! This time your not going to run away!" I yelled at him. I switched into my Shadow Knight form. I didn't go through the process of becoming a Shadow Knight,  I was just born with it. Jason looked terrified. "All you do is call me names and make me feel like I'm a nobody. I've done my best to deal with it but you've pushed me to the limit!" I continued with a demonic tint to my voice. I ran at him sword ready to strike. As I brought it down another sword stopped mine. I turned my head and saw a guy with brown hair in a Shadow Knight form blocking my sword. I realized what was going on. I lowered my guard completely. I switched into my normal self and turned to Jason. "Jason, I'm sorry. I had no clue what I was doing. I hope you can forgive me. I honestly don't want to be enemies.  From when I first met you I've always wanted to be friends but fate had other plans. " I said. I wasn't doing this because someone told me to, this is all me. The brown haired guy looked surprised.  Ignoring him, I reached out my hand to help Jason up and surprisingly he took it. "I'm the one who should be sorry Neko. I've been horrible to you. I hope you can forgive me. "said Jason.  As an answer, I hugged him. My ears pearked up when I heard something. I took off in the direction of the noise and before I got there crashed into Aaron.  I assumed he was heading to the scene that just happened. "Sorry Aaron! I have to get somewhere. " I said. He stopped me. "I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't realize. I just want to say that you'll find a family who loves you for who you are. Anyway,  I have to go too. Aphmau called me and said Laurence transformed into a Shadow Knight and decided to go against another Shadow Knight. " said Aaron.  "Aaron,  I'm the Shadow Knight your friend went up against.  Nothing happened though. It's been resolved.  I'm actually going to investigate something. I swear I heard Gene from this direction.  If he's here something is going to happen. Bye Aaron! " I said. I ran off after and approached my destination.  I crouched in some bushes and saw what I feared. Gene was there and he was talking to Zenix which makes things worse. I gasped a little too loud at the sight. Zenix turned and walked towards my hiding place. I froze. I was not prepared for this. I shut my eyes tight and waited. Pretty soon I was pulled out of the bushes. "Looks like we have a tratior Gene. This Shadow Knight was spying on us." said Zenix. "I think you've made a mistake Zenix. SShe's not a Shadow Knight. I know who's gone through the process and she's not one of them." said Gene. The two started to argue and I spoke up. "You're both right actually. I am a Shadow Knight but I didn't go through the process.  I was just born this way." I said. I can't believe how many people I've told this. I kept it a secret up until now. I stood there and waited for what happens next.
