Memory loss

*beep, beep, beep, beep...*

I woke up to this incredibly bright light. Where was I? Am I in heaven? Ohhhhh! By golly is this what it feels to be dead?? This is coooool!! How did I die again? Haha oh yeah I remember... oh wait... no, no I don't.

"Is she awake?" I heard a dreary voice in the background "excuse me ma'am, are you with us?"

"G-god?" I whispered. What if I'm not in heaven yet? What if the holy people are inspecting me to see if I'm going to hell "Jesus? Please! I promise it wasn't my fault! Just Take me to mummy and daddy..."

"Is she ok?" An American voice came from above me. My blurry eyesight blocked out the black blobs standing by by side.

I reached out and touched the warm mass above my head and tried my hardest to focus on what was in front of  me. Is it Jesus? God? Omg I'm not even religious.

"Yeah her heart rate is doing ok. She just needs time to come round"

Frustrated with the lack of knowledge of my surroundings, I attempted to sit up.
One hand behind me... that's it... now the other hand... ok... wow I'm really dizzy. I fell back down with a thump, hearing a million voices around me but they were all blurry like my vision.

I felt a cold damp flannel on my forehead, "am I in heaven yet?" I asked the holy people.

"No sorry ma'am, just do your best to wake up ok"

"Wait so I'm in hell??"

"No no no" the holy person chuckled "you haven't died it's ok"

I'm not sure what he's talking about though. My mind is a blur and if this isn't heaven/ hell they I honestly don't know what could have happened to me.

Maybe I was abducted by aliens! Wait... if they're aliens, then shouldn't I be scared?

I let out a high pitched scream and leaped off of... whatever I was lying on.

Warm hands gripped my shoulders and pushed me back onto the surface. A plastic bowl was placed over my mouth and nose and fresh, cold air rushed into my lungs. I blinked slowly at my clearing vision and noticed millions of colored wires around me and a tube pumping into my hand. Wait this is a hospital? I didn't die? "What happened?" I croaked through the mask "I didn't die?"

"Shhhh" one of the doctors said calmingly "take it easy. Do you remember anything?"

I shook my head in confusion.

"What's you name? We couldn't find any ID on you so we still don't know who you are"

"Um... Dessie"

"Okay Dessie how old are you?"

"I-I'm 19" I said in annoyance "now can you please tell me what happened?"

Before the doctor could reply, the American guy stepped in "you fell into a lake! You you would have drowned if it wasn't for me"

"W-what do you mean?" I said In astonishment "what was I doing near a lake?"

"Dunno but you just walked right into it" he laughed "it was quite amusing"

"Do we know each other?" I glared

"Do now" he smirked "I'm zach"
