The Girl Who Changes

There's a girl that sits and waits at bus stop across from mine every day. Its always the same bus stop. Always the same bus. Always the same time of day. Always the same bench.

But the girl changes. Its not a different girl every time, but she always changes her appearance. She's so brave.

Her hair is naturally brunette, I think, because that's the color it was when I first saw her (if I can remember correctly). It curls around her shoulders and looks gorgeous as it circles her cheeks and frames her face perfectly. Especially when she wears her red beenie with it. Its like a red, concealed dam, but then her hair poors out of it, breaking through the dam and creating a chocolate waterfall.

Her natural hair has streeks in it too. Some people would easily mistake them for dyed colors or extensions, but if you were to look at it for awhile, you'd see that the streaks flow so naturally with her brunette hair that they couldn't ever be fake. They're like the silver, gold, and iced blonde fish that burst through and shimmer in the chocolate waterfall. And I've seen her dye her hair too. She recently dyed it purple, and it is so very beautiful. She only dyed the streaks, so her chocolate hair still glistens, but it is surrounded by a purple force field. Its just like a galaxy. The swirls of a deep, anticing brown, just barely mixed with an attention-grabbing, flowing, and fading lilac, with bright bursts of glistening, magenta stars.

She wears a different coat every day too. The one I've seen her wear that I like the most is her forrest green, button-up, winter jacket. I don't know why I like that one... It just seems to like her. It agrees with her, embrasses her. Like a little girl squeezing a teddy bear. Or a warm hug from someone's significant other. Or a fuzzy, comfortable, heartwarming blanket that you cuddle and it cuddles back.

And she has a new pair of pants every day too. Sometimes she'll wear white-washed jeans, or sometimes navy blue jeans, or sometimes warm black leggings. And her legs stand out of the hem of her stiff, forrest green, winter jacket just like a perfectly shaped sculpture's flaws would stand out amongst a pile of plastic trash. Meaning the flaws barely stand out at all, but if they are noticed, they just make her seem even more artsy.

She's the perfect idea of a 'winter ready' girl. Or in my opinion. Apparently most people think a 'winter ready' girl means sloppy, large sweatshirts, extremely short 'sports' shorts (that would give you a wedgie every five seconds if you played any sport in them), and ugly, old tennis shoes with mid-calf socks that stick out from the shoes.

I mean honestly if anyone wore that in winter it would NOT be attractive. They would be standing on the side of the road, hugging themselfs, and shivering their mid-calf socks off. And they would look like a lonely person who left their house without changing out of the clothes they were wearing while sitting on the coach, eating potato chips, and playing video games.

But the girl at the bus stop covers up nicely. That's why she's 'winter ready'. She wears winter gear like her hat and coat.

And her mittens and scarf. Those are the things that she never changes. She always wears the same pair of sky blue mittens with her matching sky blue scarf. And she always holds that sky blue scarf with her sky blue mittens so that it always covers the lower half of her face. Her mouth. The part she would smile with.
