"What do you mean there's people after you and...'Yams' ?" Kasia asked.

"Apparently they been through some shit in the past and Tariq got shot. So now they coming after me. I'm not really scared though." I said.
Kasia raised her eyebrow at me. I shrugged and continued eating.

I never really been through something like this but I have nothing to fear of right now besides my grandfather so, yeah. Plus whoever these people might be, can't be keeping tabs on my every move cause I'd know for sure if somebody is watching me. But we'll see what happens.

My phone buzzed and it was Rakim. I rolled my eyes and answered. "What ?" I asked. "What I tell you bout' that 'what' shit?" he said sternly. I huffed. "What do you want Rakim?, I'm trying to eat." I munched on my nacho. He kissed his teeth. "Come to the hallway. I gotta talk to you." As soon as I was about to say something, he hung up.

Kasia looked at me and I got up. Rolling my eyes once more, I packed up my food and gave it to her. "I'll see you later. I gotta see what he bothering me about." She nodded.

I walked out to the hallway and saw no sign of him anywhere. "You gotta be fucking kidding me." I whispered. I stood there for five minutes and there was only 10 left for lunch.

Growing impatient, I began to walk off only to see Rakim standing a few feet behind me with his hands behind his back smiling. I walked up to him and plucked him in the lips.

"Z, what the fuck..." he groaned for a second. I stood there with my arms folded. "What is it, Rakim?" I huffed. "I got this for you." He covered his lips and held out a black velvet box in his hand. I took it and opened it. It was a gold necklace with the letter R.

"Rakim, I-" he cut me off, "Yeah yeah, I know. You're welcome birthday girl." I widened my eyes. "How'd you know it was my birthday?!" I said. He smiled and pulled me in close. "You don't think Daddy know when his baby girl birthday is?" I shook my head as I blushed.

The bell rung and everyone scattered through the hall. Kasia walked pass me and began speaking to Tyler. I rolled my eyes. It began to get really weird how close they've gotten but hey, she doesn't listen to me so it doesn't matter.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Marty yelled. He hugged me tight and messed with my hair. "Aye! it took me all night the keep my hair straight!" I growled. He laughed and apologized. "Sorry. But come on, ya pops told us to come get you." he said.

As soon as he said pops, I had already knew where this shit was going to go.

"You're going whether you like it or not." He said. I sighed. Those damn boys. Always getting involved into some shit.

"But dad..." He cut me off.

"But dad, nothing. You are not going to get caught up in some street mess. Not on my time. Not ever." He pointed at me. I began to get upset. I hadn't even placed myself in this and now I'm the one to get yelled at. Great. Jusssst Peachy.

"I've never even left this house except to see Kasia and going to school. So what could I possibly be caught up in? Nothing. Nothing at all. I work my ass off in school to keep you, mom, and gekkō happy. Let me stay and prove you EVEN further that I'm not fooling around being some hoodlum up to no good." I stated. He clenched his jaw and huffed sharply. Nodding and shaking his head, he smiled lightly.
