I made my way home safely spotting no other Shagras. I ran most of the way and was relieved when I got home. It turns out Elijah only lives a few blocks away from me, which is good.

I slipped inside and took off my wet converses and sat them in front of the heater to dry. I walked into the kitchen to find mom and dad sitting across from each other having a detailed discussion. Dad spotted me first.

"Where have you been?" He asked, anger in his voice.

"I was out with Jessie." I replied.

"You could have let us know where you were instead of just leaving us to worry then coming home at 11 at night!!" Dad practically yelled.

If there was one thing that terrified me more than Shagaras it was yelling and fighting. Holding back my tears I said a quiet 'sorry'.

"And we also need to talk about what happened a few nights ago." Dad said. Mom was staying quiet because she not to interrupt dad when he was angry, she also hated fighting nearly as much as I did. Seeing dads remark coming, I remembered the lie that I had thought of in case this topic did arise.

"What part of it would you like to talk about." I said calmly, still standing in the doorway to the kitchen.

"Don't you get smart with me, young lady, you know exactly what part I want to talk about."

I stopped being scared, instead I was immediately pissed off. The fact that you're too ignorant to accept that Jas isn't straight and that's okay, so you hate her and hate me hanging around her because you think she will 'turn' me gay??? That's what I wanted to say, but instead I just simply said,

"Jas."

"Yes. Her. Why did you go to her place after we talked about you not being allowed to go near her."

Rage bubbled inside of me. What was the point of holding my tongue, like really?

"No dad, Jas, she has a name, as we have discussed many times before. Just because she isn't straight doesn't mean she isn't a person and doesn't have feelings. And secondly, we," I said pointing back and forth to the two of us, "never discussed that. You decided that I couldn't go near her. But she's my best friend and sooner or later you are going to have to accept that. And personally, I suggest you pick sooner rather than later because Jas and I being friends isn't going to change."

Dad sat there thinking of what to say next, but before he could, I finished off the conversation.

"Now that we have that all sorted out, I really don't see the point in talking about this any longer. This is what? Like, the 14th time we have had this conversation and it never changes. So one of us is going to have to change our opinion. Now see, Jas isn't going to change her sexuality because you don't like it, and frankly it isn't something that can be changed, it's not like she chose to be pansexual. And you know that everyone is a person, I mean, you work with people who have disabilities, you of all people should see that. So, I'm going to continue to be the morally good, accepting and understanding person that I am, and you, dad, should probably change the way you view her. So, now that we have that settled, I no longer see a point in this argument continuing. Goodnight, I'm going to bed." And that was all I said before I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and changing, then hopping into bed.

I turned on my phone and logged onto Facebook to see I had a message from Kiro.

//A, It's your birthday next week are you going to do anything???//

//Idk man, I'll see how I go//

//Ok//

I turned off my phone and went to sleep. I woke up to find myself on the floor. Picking myself up I got changed and went to have some breakfast. I walked into the kitchen and no one was there. That's strange, I thought, normally mom and dad are here at this time of the morning. I walked around the house, looking in all the rooms. What's going on?  I went outside to the garden, but they weren't there either. Walking to the garage I saw that both of their cars were both still there. Starting to freak out I reached into my pocket and called moms phone. It went straight to message bank, the same as dads did when I tried to call him. I called Deegan.

"What do you want?" He asked.

"Have you seen mom or dad? I can't find them anywhere, the house is empty, their cars are still here, they aren't answering their phones and they aren't in the garden either." Panic rushed over me in waves.

"Huh, not a clue, good luck Sis." He said, then he hung up the phone.

I walked back inside. Passing the bathroom I heard a dripping noise. I opened the door to turn off the tap that was leaking, but when I opened the door, the sight that was there before me forced out a piecing scream.
