Tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear, I sighed, taking a step back to look in the mirror. I pulled a pink, wooly jumper over my white shirt, pulling the shirts collar over the top of the jumper and smoothing it over the woollen fabric. I straightened out my jumper, staring longingly at my reflection.

My complexion was a normal as any other girl. I wasn't anything special. I had long, naturally wavy hair that came down to my waist, lightly tanned skin and deep brown eyes. I didn't wear much makeup. I occasionally wore the odd mascara here and there but usually, I stuck to being natural.

I sighed again at the strand of hair that I had recently tucked back, was sticking up on top of my head.

Brushing it down and adding some hairspray to reassure that It would fall out again, I grabbed my bag, slinging it over my shoulder.

I trotted down stairs, signalling to my mom that I was ready, before having one sneaky last check in the mirror.

The car ride to school was silent. And awkward silent. Me and my mother had never really been that close, since I've been a daddy's girl for longer than I can remember. To this day, I'm still not sure why we've never been close, but I guess it's because our personalities are so different.

As the school came into sight, my heart began to pound in my ears, my breathing becoming heavy.

What if no one liked me?

What if I couldn't find out where to go?

Who do I talk to?

So many questions raced through my mind, making my head spin. Id never really been able to fit in well, id always be the one to get on with the work and not mess around like the other majority of my class.

Pulling into a parking space, my mom cut the engine.

We sat there for a moment, both of us not knowing what to say, before my mom spoke up.

"Have a good day Bella" She weakly smiled. I returned the smile, muttering a quick thank-you before grabbing my bag and hopping out of the car.

I entered the school, students laughing and running around, obviously not caring if they missed lessons or not.

I paced over to the reception desk and waited for someone to come and direct me where to go.

A small woman with short black hair and big round classes, noticed my presence and slowly stood up to my desk and began walking over to me at a snails pace.

"Can I help you?" She grunted.

"I'm Isabella Sanders, Im a new student starting today" I said, a little taken aback by her sudden rudeness.

"Oh yes, a new student, one second" She smiled falsely, the annoyance clearly visible in her eyes.

I stood there playing with my fingernails, picking off the little remainder of my purple nail varnish. I really need to remember to paint these tonight....

A piece of paper was waved in my face, making me suddenly look up. The small woman had returned and handed me my timetable.

I quickly thanked her, hurrying away as quickly as possible. I hope the other teachers aren't as scary as her.

I looked at my timetable, scanning the for my tutor room.

Tutor room:

Room: 2.41

After searching for about half an hour, Silently patting myself of the back for getting here early, finally found my tutor room.

I walked in the room, half expecting it to be empty. I was wrong.

The room was completely full, teenagers shouting and throwing bits of paper here and there. Was a late? I thought I was early?!

After noticing my presence, the whole room went into a serge of silence, all eyes on me.

Feeling extremely uncomfortable, my eyes instantly shot to my feet, suddenly finding them somewhat interesting.

"Good morning class, I assu-" In walked a tall, old looking man, cutting his sentence short when he noticed me.

"Ah, class, it must have slipped my mind, we have a new student starting here, her name is Isabella. Id like it if you could all make her feel welcome." He seemed to be searching for something in the row of students before his eyes lit up.

"Macey, Im sure you wouldn't mind looking after Isabella for the day, just to help her get started?" The teacher asked a red headed girl. She looked at me and gave me a genuine warm smile. "Sure".

The teacher ushered me to sit next to her, all eyes still on me. I sat down next to her settling my bag down onto the floor.

A loud squeak erupted throughout the classroom, and suddenly, everyone's eyes were off me and looking towards the door. I followed their gaze, confused.

"Sorry Im late"
