*Chapter 2*

Ok so before I start this chapter I just want to say that the picture on top was made by ThePiezs and it is adorable!! I love it! Thank you! X3 And I think that if anyone does make fanart I'll post it at the start of a chapter. How does that sound? Anyways enjoy!

"Today's the day." A boy the age of 19 sighed as he packed a bag with his stuff. He wore a light tan colored shirt that had torn up sleeves, his pants where dark brown, and he wore black shoes, he had dirty blonde hair and a sky blue eye. He was different from the rest because of his left eye. It was what he liked to call a 'camera.' No one knew how he got that name or how he got a 'camera' for an eye he just did.

"Cory!" A woman's voice called from downstairs. "Coming mom!" He replied as he finished packing his bag then threw it over his shoulder and ran downstairs. As his feet landed on the wood floor he was engulfed in a hug. "I-I'm g-going t-to m-miss you!" His mother cried into his shoulder. Cory returned the hug. "I'm going to miss you to mom but I need this. You can't take care of me forever by yourself." A few tears escaped his eye as he said those words.

"I-I know b-but i-it's going to be hard not seeing you anymore!" His mother cried even harder. "Shh mom I'm going to be alright I promise but that is if I get chosen and hey if I do if it makes you feel any better I'll come visit when I get the chance okay?" He said pulling away from the hug. "O-Okay." His mother said as she wiped her tears. "Just remember that I'll be waiting for you. Now go before you're late." She kissed his forehead. "Okay." He replied walking over to the door.

"Bye mom love you!" He said before exiting the house. "I love you too! Be safe!" His mother called to him as he ran down the stone path and through the plaza.

Soon he arrived at the beach. He looked around and noticed a group of boys around his age at the docks looking off into the distance. He turned his head into the direction that they where looking and he saw a huge pirate ship off in the distance. "Whoa..." Cory gasped. "And to think that I may be on that ship." He quickly snapped out of his trance and looked down at the sliver pendant that hung around his neck. "I have enough time to check right?" He thought as he looked back up at the pirate ship to see that it was still a few minutes away from the docks.

"Yeah I still have enough time!" He quickly ran off in the opposite direction of the docks and towards the end of the beach which was covered in rocks of all shapes and sizes. Cory climbed on top of the biggest rock that looked off into the rest of the ocean.

"Hey are you there?" He called out holding his pendant in one hand. There was a glint of hope in his eye as he waited for an answer, but when there was no answer his face saddened and that glint of hope died. "Oh....well if you can hear me I just want to say that I'm sorry for what I'm about to do and I hope that one day we'll cross paths again and I can say that I'm sorry in person." With that Cory climbed down the rock and he ran back to the docks just in time as the ship had just docked.

As he arrived the other boys scrambled to get into a line as two men walked off the ship. Cory went to the end of the line and watched the two men. One of them had a sword attached to his belt, he wore a black jacket that had red trimming and white sleeves with gold ends, he had a white undershirt, his pants are a very dark brown, he wore black boots, his had brown hair, he had an eye patch over one eye, and the other eye was emerald green.

Behind him was a slightly shorter male he wore a black jacket that had purple trimming, he had a grey sash that went from his shoulder to his waist, he had a white V-neck undershirt, his pants where dark grey, he also wore black boots but his had a green trimming, he had brown hair covering one of his eyes, his other eye was a maroon color, and he had a purple headband.

The taller one examined the boys one by one as he went further down the line to where Cory was he got nervous. Cory fixed his posture and wiped his hands on his pants trying to remove some of the sweat that build up. Soon the pirate arrived at Cory. He examined him but once he got to Cory's eye he stopped and looked at it. As he looked at it Cory grew even more nervous. "Oh god. Fuck. What's he thinking? Does he not like it? No! Cory calm the fuck down! Nothing's wrong! Just relax!" He thought as the pirate looked at it some more.

Eventually he stopped looking at it and he stood up properly smiling. "What's your name?" He asked Cory. "O-Oh my n-name it's Cory, Cory Crater." He stuttered. "Well nice to meet you Cory, I'm Barney and that's Ty," He said pointing to the shorter male. "And welcome aboard The Golden Hind." "W-Wait what?" Cory could not believe it. Did he really choose him? "You're coming with us kiddo. I like you, you're different, like us." Barney said smiling proudly.

Cory's face lit up. A huge smile formed on his face. "Come on let's go!" Ty said annoyed as he started walking back towards the boat. "Don't mind him. He just doesn't like doing pit stops and getting off track of our mission." Barney assured him as he started walking back to the boat with Cory following behind him.

"Wow this is a lot bigger than I thought!" Cory gasped as he started looking around. "Get use to it kid cause this is where you're going to live now. Out on the open seas!" Barney chuckled. "Wait is it only you and Ty on this ship?" Cory asked looking for the other pirates. "Well there is one more person but other than that there's only us." Barney replied. "Well where is the other person?" Cory looked around again trying to find the other person. "MAX!" Barney yelled startling Cory.

Soon a boy with red hair, and very dark brown eyes almost looking black came and ran over to them. "Yes Captain?" He said. "Max meet Cory our newest recruit and the Cabin Boy." Barney said pointing to Cory who just waved a hello. "Well nice to meet you Cory I'm Max the Quartermaster of the ship." Max extended his hand for Cory to shake. "Nice to meet you too Max." Cory shook his hand.

"Well!" Barney clapped his hands together. "Max go tell Ty to set sail and Cory you go to the sleeping quarters there will be some clothes for you on one of the beds, sorry if they're a little too big for you I of course don't know what size clothing you wear so I just took a guess." Both Max and Cory nodded their heads then they went to do what Barney told them to do.

  Cory opened a door that lead to the sleeping quarters. There were four beds each had red bed blankets and a white pillow, there was also a spruce wood night stand beside each bed. He walked down to the end of the room where the last bed was and there was a small pile of clothing there. Cory smiled to himself looking at the clothes then he started to change.

Cory pushed open the door as he tied a navy blue bandana around his head. "Captain Barney!" Cory called out. "Mm yes?" Barney replied walking up to Cory. "I'm ready sir!" Cory stood straight and did a salute. He now wore a white tank top with a black vest over it, he had a brown bag that went over his shoulder and to his waist, he had dark brown pants, and black boots with his sliver pendant showing proudly around his neck bringing his whole attire together. The clothes were a little big but Cory knew that he would grow into them.

Barney smiled. "Good now I'll show you around the ship then I have some chores for you to do." Cory nodded and started following him around the ship.

DONE! I spent pretty much all day on this chapter! And I've said this before but if you want to know what the character designs are but as a picture than please go to my third art book.

Also as I was writing this chapter I googled "what do you call a male tank top?" Yeah apparently it's called a "wife beater" and I was like "Um yeah fuck no I think I'm just going to call it a tank top"

Another thing I want to tell you guys is that if I put stars in the title of the chapter that means that it's going to have the Pirates in it and if I put these things: > < then it's going to have the Mermen in it and if I put both it's going to have both.

Also I'm sorry if there are any mistakes in here I'm tired and I don't want to proof read the chapter!
