I ran and ran as fast as my nine year-old legs could carry me. The high school males chasing me at the moment didn't take too kindly to me sharing a story line with them after they asked me for my money.

I'm an average size for my age, but I have yet to be able to defend myself, seeing I'm only in 5th grade -- yes, 5th grade. I skipped a grade due to me exceeding in all of my classes. I was not the only one around the area to skip a grade, but that's for later on. Anyway, I ran from these not-so-bright males.

I never gave interest in their usual torment. It gave me something to do while on my way, running. The name calling such as, "olds-men" and, "nerd" did not faze me at all. I considered being called elderly a compliment, for with age comes wisdom. The only thing that bothered me what was, what was going to happen if they catch me?  Although, I highly doubt that they would. With my werewolf genes, I could travel for hours without getting tired. That is if I slow jog. Even without my wolf yet, I still have this ability. But I was sprinting, which means I'm going to get tired in about 10 to 15 minutes.

I soon entered the forest, nearly to Papa's territory when a fairly small stone hit me in the head.

I came to a halt.

This angered me a bit, so I turned my head and looked towards the males. They stopped about 15 feet behind  me. "Excuse me, but I don't mind your usual chasing, name calling or chasing while name calling. . ." I paused for a bit, "But you have crossed the line. One of you three threw a rock and it hit me right in my cranium." I said as I brought a finger up and lightly tapped the area that was hit. "Whichever one of you three did this best apologize before something bad happens."

The tall boy in the middle with dark, short, and shaggy hair eventually replied, ". . .What?"

They all showed pretty puzzled expressions on their faces.

I rolled my eyes and slowly said, "Let me dumb it down to you all, Jason. You three jerks have annoyed me a lot by throwing a rock at my head!"

After finally realizing what I said, the three males laughed.

"Oh yeah! Well what are you going to do about it?" The short boy, Marcus, on the left said once the laughter died down.

I stood there quite blankly I must admit,  I didn't know what I was going to do. They had called me on my little white lie and I did not have a backup plan. I was angered by the situation, yet I couldn't do anything because there was only one of me and three of them.

I slowly shrugged.

The all started to approach me, but before I could even sprint a very loud growl erupted making everyone stop and stare in the direction it came from.

The first thing I saw when I turned were big, hazel eyes. Next, was the wolf himself. Large, broad shoulders, standing on all fours making him and incredible 6'9. He had midnight black fur that shone in the sunlight, sharp pearly white canines.

It was Papa.

The young males looked at me with fear all but shown on their faces. I smirked and quietly said, "Boo!" while lifting my hands to the sides of my head and spreading my fingers out.

They ran faster than a gazelle would run away from a hungry cheetah. This amused me but father. . . not so much.

Through telepathy my papa, also know as Alpha Morgan, asked me, "Diamond, what were you doing outside of the territory? And how did you get past the guards again?"

I didn't answer. I only looked down knowing my papa was getting disappointed with my behavior.

He shook his large head, fur and ears swaying to the movement. "Just hop on my back, we're going home."

Papa lay on the dirt ground and I did as told and got onto his back. I held on tightly to the fur on his neck and we set off for home.

**(Time skip cause im lazy)**

Papa slowed to a halt in front of the house and I got off of his back, starting to walk towards the door. Mama was watching me. I have no idea what I'm going to tell her.

She walked up to me and started to speak, "What did we tell you about leaving--"

"Yes I know but I wanted to see Natty!" my shoulders slumped a bit.

She looked at me with a just a hint of anger and worry in her eyes, "That doesn't mean you may go and see this boy you like."

I immediately hear Papa's voice behind me and I jump. "Who is Natty?"

"Diamond's friend she has a crush on." Mama replied to him, but didn't stop looking at me.

Papa quickly turned and started to walk out of the house saying, "He dies!"

I gasp and yell, "PAPA, NO!--"

We all hear a raspy howl. The howl from the eldest in the pack. . .  This signals an attack.

My mother grabs me from under my shoulders and carries me upstairs.
She kicks down the door and walks to my closet, placing me in the small compartment inside. "Stay here ."

I take a gulp and nod as she closes the door.

I soon hear yelling. Then I hear another howl -- but from a much younger wolf -- not long before whimpers, and growling. I press myself against the wall of the dark compartment. I hear this for a while, but it soon stops. I hesitate, but I eventually crawl out of the area. I look outside of the window.

I see blood and dead wolves everywhere . . .

Tears threatening to run down my face, in a shaky voice, I very quietly call out. "M-Mama..? Papa..?"

I look around and first see my mother.

Is... she fighting an alpha? Yes, I can tell by his size.

But she's winning..! Mama--!

BANG!

Halts. She turns her head towards a man holding a large gun and falls over. Papa runs to the man and kills him, soon the Alpha who was badly injured by Mama.

The tears finally fall down my cheeks and I turn to the wall slide down, once hitting the floor, I curl up in a tight ball and start to sob.

My mother was dead . . .
