Chapter 9 : Nothing Else Matters

A/N : I just want to say that I'm no where near a doctor and don't know much about head injuries so if some things aren't correct with this chapter I apologize. :)

Duff's POV

"Hey Duff, go get me another beer." Izzy says to me. "Alrighty." I say in return.

So I make my way over to the fridge, and I hear a loud thump. I turn around to see April laying on the floor beside the kitchen table.

"Fuck!" Axl yells as he runs over to her.

"What happened, what happened?!" Steven jumps up, along with everyone else.

"I don't know, but we have to get her to a fuckin' hospital. Now." Axl says as he carries April out of the door, and we all follow.

We all pile in my car, and Axl is in the back holding April. "You'll be alright baby, I promise." Axl weeps, and his voice starts to crack. In the almost two years I've known Ax, I've never seen him cry until now.

Axl's POV

We go into the hospital, and they rush April back to a room. The guys, Holly, and I are told to wait in the waiting room until they figure out what happened.

"What the fuck happened?" Slash slurs his words as he lights a cigarette.

"Umm sir, you can't smoke in here." A women from behind the desk says.

"Fuck you! Fuck everyone!" and Slash stomps on his cigarette to put it out.

"Slash... Ya know you could go outside and smoke that." Steven says pointing to the cigarette that Slash had stomped on.

"Well it's too late now popcorn, that was my last one." and he sighs.

"I have some! I have all kinds that you can barrow!" And Slash grabs the pack out of Stevens hands and runs out the door.

"Hello everyone." The doctor says as he closes the door that April is in, and steps into the hallway.

"Hello." We all say in unison. "Well, it looks like the fall that mrs. Mckagan had caused some bleeding on the brain, so we're gonna put her in surgery right away to try and stop the bleeding. She could be unconscious for a few days, weeks, or even months, we don't really know. But if we can stop the bleeding, she should be fine."  He says and he walks away to get a few nurses and doctors to prepare for surgery.

"Axl, how are we gonna-" Izzy tries to say, but I cut him off.

"I don't care about we! Nothing else matters right now but April. She's all I care about!" I scream, and lay my head in my hands.

"Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckkkkkk! What am I gonna tell my parents? I let my little sis play beer pong with me and my band and she got so drunk that she passed out, and hit her head? We might as well forget about her ever getting to do anything with us ever again." I hear Duff say.

"Man , I don't know." Izzy mumbles back.

This is absolute bullshit. I'm supposed to watch her, and make sure stuff like this doesn't happen. I'm supposed to make sure she doesn't get hurt, and what did I do? I let her get hurt.

"Tell them the truth." and I point to the pay phone. Duff walks over to it, and begins to punch in numbers.

"Hey mom, it's Michael." He pauses to hear what she says. "Please don't be angry, but April was drinking and she passed out, and when she passed out she hit her head, and she's in surgery." He finishes. "Okay, see you then." And he hangs up.
