Luna hasn't thought about being anything other than a naturalist after leaving Hogwarts. She is now glad she decided to go with what is in her mind. She wouldn't have met Rolf Scamander otherwise...and wouldn't have fallen in love with the man of her dreams. She never would have thought Rolf would be in her dreams, however. Well...not at first, anyway. She had seen him at school and was dismayed to find out he was a Slytherin with the people who had bullied her throughout her tenure at Hogwarts.

She also had no idea up to this point that Rolf had been keeping an eye on her throughout the entire time they knew one another. She didn't even realize that he knew who she was since he was so much older than her. If she remembers correctly, he was several years ahead of her at Hogwarts. That meant, of course, that they would not have had classes together while at Hogwarts unless it was an unusual elective or two. And she doesn't believe they ran into one another then either.

That is, if her recollection is correct on that count. Who knows? It may not be up to this point and she doesn't care if she /is/ wrong on this count. All she knows at this point is that she should trust her judgment when it comes to matters of the heart. It is telling her at the moment to put her trust in Rolf Scamander for the time being. She does not feel like she would be putting herself in harm's way since he seems to be so protective of her. In fact, he doesn't let her out of his line of eye-sight!

She doesn't mind this fact all, however, since he is so very easy upon the eyes. Well...at least from a female prospective. She cannot seem to stop looking at him when the two of them are in the same room. She doesn't mind this fact either, however, since she likes looking at him at this point. He gives her the scant amount of attention she desires and that is all that matters to her. Well...besides the fact that he seems to love her as well. That fact is an added bonus in her mind since she has all that she needs in this life, thanks to this man alone.

How could he have been able to do all that he has for her in such short notice? It makes no sense to the young witch but she doesn't ask questions when it comes to Rolf Scamander. He doesn't seem to like the questions she asks from time to time. It makes her laugh to see the look of consternation on his face but she can tell that the feeling in his mind is very much serious. That fact alone is why she never pushes him on anything when it comes to his thoughts. She doesn't want to see his wrath directed at her since she has seen it before.

That is a road she doesn't want to go down at any point, which is why she is working so very hard at making sure he is happy. She has no plans of telling him about her personal job, however. That is for her to know and for him to never find out. Right?

Rolf sat at his desk watching her closely as she gazed around the room and then at him. He was quiet for the longest time as his thoughts went back to when he first saw her. She was an eleven year old girl at the time. New to Hogwarts and along with that a free spirited personality. It was then that he had fallen in love with her. He was about four years older than her and he knew that there would be some time until she was old enough for him to even look at her in a romantic sort of way.

He could see how deeply she thought about things and even at eleven she had more sense than most adults, if you knew how to listen to her and make sense out of what she was saying. Rolf had heard the things she had said and found that it was challenging to him to figure out what she had meant but when he finally did the whole concept of the thing blew him away. He knew that Luna was smart beyond her years and even now as he was watching her from behind his desk and he can see the immense intelligence in her eyes.

He had always kept an eye on that little Malfoy brat as he picked on Luna and her friends and it bugged him to no end how he acted around them. He himself was pureblood, but that did not meant that he was better than anyone else. A lot of the halfbloods were extremely powerful so he knew that ancestry had nothing to do with one's capabilities. Rolf had been more of a loner in school more because he was tossed into Slytherin and he did not think the way that some of the kids thought. He had a kind noble heart and was kind of shy so the fact that all the others in his house were mean made him sad.

He had spent his years studying hard and now he owned his grandfather's company. He had called Luna into his office because he wanted to go on assignment with her. The project involved a list of new species and a few that they had found cousins to. The project was huge and it would result in a new text book for Hogwarts. He had been told that if he wanted the job done and on time that Luna would be the one who would be able to help him. She had a lot of training as a naturalist and her thoughts and ideas would help them find the various creatures, get pictures, and then get it all on paper to publish.

He would be offering her a fair amount of a salary and a job as the co-owner of his company. He trusted that she would not try to take it from him. She did not seem to be that type of a person and he had never seen her do anything but give from her heart. He knew that the money did not mean that much to her but the chance to work side by side with her meant the world to him so he finally focused on her fully now and lay down the quill that he had been holding. What he would say to her would mean a lot of changes if she accepted. Those were changes that he was willing to make.

"Miss Lovegood, I have a proposal for you. It would involve a lot of time on your part but I think I can make it worth your while. I need a partner for this magazine and I have an assignment that I would like you to join me in. You will have your own office with all the amenities and a salary that equals mine. What do you say? Do you have any questions?"

He was doing everything in his power to keep her from knowing that he was in love with her at the moment. He didn't want to scare her away.
